after Elisabeth Loisel has stepped down
when England pipped Les Bleues to September's FIFA Women's World Cup.

Loisel was sacked ! The new coach will start witha Freindly on the 28thy against China.

Matildas massacre Uzbekistan

THE Australia women's football team advanced to the final stage of qualifying for the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a 10-0 demolition of Uzbekistan in Taiwan overnight.

The Matildas raced to a five-goal lead after just 25 minutes before adding a another five goals in the second half in a match played in cool conditions in the Chungshan Stadium.

The goals were shared among nine different goalscorers, with substitute Collette McCallum leading the way with a double, including a goal with her first touch 10 seconds after entering the fray on the hour mark.

There were also goals for Kate Gill, Thea Slatyer, Lauren Colthorpe, Danielle Small, Sarah Walsh, Heather Garriock, Rhian Davies and Lana Harch.

Joanne Peters skippered the team in the absence of rested captain Cheryl Salisbury, while Garriock wore the captain's armband for the first time in the latter stages of the match after Peters was substituted.

After winning their first match 2-0 on Wednesday against Burma, Australia will complete its round-one fixtures on Sunday against host-nation Taiwan.

Regardless of that result, the Matildas have already booked their place in the final round of qualifying in April.

Australia will now go into a four-team group, which includes Asia's top team North Korea, with only the top team to progress to the 2008 Olympic Games.

The Matildas have already qualified for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup also to be held in China, September 10-30.

Being an Arsenal Ladies supporer 10 goals isn't really a big score line!
