Goalkeeper Coaching in Hertfordshire |
|
Hi,
I am 21 years old and have applied to do my level 1 coaching certificate in June (wanted to wait until the football season was over), and i am looking to become a goalkeeper coach - the position i play! I have played at a high academy level including teams such as watford, qpr and then on to Arsenal Academy. Unfortunately, i gave the game up at 16 due to a family member passing away. I now have more passion then ever to help out young goalkeepers and offer goalkeeper coaching on a sunday afternoon to a team in a local area. I will come down before the teams game on a sunday and work for half an hour with your goalkeeper. If any club in Hertfordshire is interested or if anyone else knows where i should try then please please let me know, Thanks Damian |

Damian,
Well done mate. It's good to see young people like you who have got to a good standard trying to pass some of your experience on. I met with Paul Allen at the PFA last year and he claimed that over 95% of pro-club apprentices who don't get taken on at full professional level are lost to the game forever. Astonishing! These guys have a hell of a lot to give to the game they profess to love. What a waste if they turn their backs on it. I hope someone takes you up on your offer. If not, get in touch with Herts FA (contact details at www.hertfordshirefa.com). I am sure they could put you in touch with a needy club. Good luck! |
