Drogheda United and Bohemians have reportedly joined St Patrick’s Athletic in the race to sign former Republic of Ireland under-21 international defender Stephen Paisley.
Paisley has parted company with Longford Town following a bitter wrangle over the terms of his contract at Flancare Park.
St Pats manager John McDonnell has been a long-time suitor of the former Manchester City trainee and he will attempt to complete the signing before Saturday night’s eircom League opener – inevitable against Longford.
However, according to a report in Friday’s Irish Daily Mirror, Drogheda boss Paul Doolin and Bohs chief Sean Connor have both thrown their hat in the ring in a bid to sign the 24-year-old.
