well that was a complete shocker of a match from us. after having a 4-2 lead in the first leg i thought we should have gone through comfortably, but i always though in the back of my mind that 4-2 isnt enough, and that we should have taken every chance we had in the first game.

i think that AZ used the home advantage, and because the dutch atmosphere is much livelier than in england, we maybe got a bit intimidated by the fans.

our passing looked shaky all match, especially from bramble. there was never a end product. every time we broke, we either lost it, made a bad pass, or the ball just went through to the keeper.

towards the last 10 mins there looked like there was light at the end of the tunnel. there was parker goal, that should have been allowed, martins 1 on 1, and sibierski had a chance that they managed to clear.

overall tonight performance was sh*t, and there was moments in both games that we will look back on and think " why the fcuk didnt we score"

god knows what our tactic was. form the line-up, it didnt look like we had one, it just looked the same as the first leg. we should have gone 5-4-1 or something, we didnt need a goal. just a draw would have done.

after a first leg won 4 - 2, you should not played in defense, it is not enough because if you had scored only one goal in Holland, AZ Alkmar should have scored 3 times. If you played in defense 4 - 2 is like a 1 - 0, because with 2 goals AZ is qualified. You should have played like at home.

For me it's a mistake to play defense after a first leg won 3-1 or 4-2.

You will have better luck next year. Experience will come. Wink

There's no excuse. Intimidated? That's not acceptable. These are proffesionals. Holland is no Turkey and AZ are no Galatasaray or Besiktas. Still hey, you won the intertoto cup.

Yes! Get in!!! Wanted this result so bad, Newcastle were one of the few teams I feared that were left in the UEFA Cup and now they are out!

Heard all the fans are currently getting chased all over Aalkmar at the moment by hoolies too, hope they get home safe.

Hey Damien Duff !Hope you enjoy your paycheck cos thats all youre getting from football you sellout turncoat dickhead.

COYS! GET IN!

Do we ever know what our tactics are? Rolling Eyes

Gutted though, i thought we definately had a realistic shot at this trophy.

Mid table mediocrity, no cups left to play for. Roll on next season Rolling Eyes Sad

We were in the same position, but with luck i hope we will play the CL next season. But we were out of all the cups. And i had hope that we win the French Cup, because it's a cup that we have not. But it will not happen now. Confused

We will not win something this year, only a place in CL. Confused

Of course i'll always be supporting. But we won't make Europe, we won't get relegated and we can't win a trophy. Not much to get excited about really.

yeh I no what you mean. what we need is a better right and left back. if we could get a lb then solano, onyewu, taylor and ? would be a good defence imo. then we can start pushing for the uefa cup spot next season.
