I'm not British and the way she speaks is difficult for me to understand sometimes.
She doesn't pronounce the words the way I'm used to hear them. This is of course how they speak in Hertfordshire but for me it's just annoying. I wish all the Brits spoke proper English the way the Queen does |

I can understand Kelly, she has a different accent to me but that's coz I'm a country bumpkin haha
Nooo not the Queen! I'd fall down laughing if Kelly talked like the Queen..."Faye, may one have the ball please?" *skipping and jumping* |

LMAO Some accents make English not understandable for me - and I'm not talking about somewhere up North, I'm talking about London area - what I call sloppy is when people don't pronounce 't' and use words like 'innit' - that's where I get lost For you it makes no difference because you speak the language since your first words and I don't Back to the League Cup - erm... it's over |

hahahaha Don't come to where I live you won't survive. Everyone here sounds like: 'The ruff is falling dan' = 'The roof is falling down.' 'On the ar' = 'On the hour.' When you have off words like them added with "chav talk" it gets pretty complicated Yep...League Cup...soo..do...do..doo... |

I don't think the Brummie accent is too bad - but I've not heard her talk, so can't say about her personally. |

You can't say which accents are less understandable for foreigners, Twm
- you're Welsh |

But lots of English people are difficult to understand even by other English people, and some aren't so bad. So I thought it might apply to people who don't speak English as first language too. But, as you say - I'm Welsh, so who am I to talk |

I was going to pick out the Black Country accent as being a bit strong, but didn't want to offend anyone But, now you have spoken, I must tell about a time I went to stay, along with another guy, with a fellow student (long time ago, of course) for a weekend in your area - Lower Gornal. We went specifically to see a Wolves game, but spent an evening in a pub, where an elderly local realised there were 2 "foreigners" (the other bloke was from Cumbria). This local decided to come and chat to us, and it wasn't just his broad accent, but he used the old dialect too. He was really taking the p!ss out of us (good-naturedly), asking us questions where we felt we had to reply, although we didn't know what he was on about, and always giving answers which had the locals in stitches. I'm not sure how much they fully understood themselves - I know the guy we were staying with didn't get a lot of it. I think things have become a lot more equalised since then - the guy having a laugh with us would have been born before most people had radio, let alone tv etc., but in recent years we seem to speak the same words generally, even if we pronounce them differently. Btw - I got to know 2 other people from Lower Gornal a few years later I know the main town name is Gornalwood, but all the ones I meet are from Lower Gornal |

County Cup is London cup. You can turn up on the night, normally Arsenal plays the reserve team for those games.
