A good night for the Spanish clubs, Osasuna are clearly through already and the other 2 should be favourites too.
Id expect Bremen to win the other game but you never know

the 4 i predict will be the semi's are Spurs, osasuna, benfica and bremen; the 4 teams who were away today. osasuna clearly. Spurs will win 1-0 i reckon. bremen only need a win, and they should get that at home. and benfica should overcome espanol.

Espanyol had a clearly 3-0 playing really well and Benfica scored 2 goals in 2 or 3 minutes. Now I think that Benfica will qualify.

I like the first goal of Espanyol. There is not penalty for Sevilla, the goal had the ball in their hand.

Wow what a performance from Osasuna! Were lucky to get past Rangers in the last round and if i am perfectly honest i expected them to get convincingly beaten in Leverkusen, but they really rised to the occasion, working well as a strong unit with lots of quick, attacking flair. They denied Bayer, a lot of space and time and were truly outstanding. Slightly suprised to see the Alkmaar V Bremen game remain goaless with th talent on show there, but Werder have done well and i expect them to progress comfortably in the Second leg in Germany.

Looks like if Spurs get thru they will have to back to Spain.

I think that the teams that will qualify will be Werder and Benfica and if you compare them with Osasuna I think that if Spurs qualify then play against Osasuna isn't bad.

Its not the football im worried about, its the hooligans in police uniforms.

Ah I can't talk about it because I only watched some moments of Spurs fans and policemen fighting but I don't know which was the reason of the fight and why it started.

Maybe its just a big conspiracy against English clubs that there has been 2 outbreaks of violence in two different countries in the space of 2 days?
I'm sorry but if your not going to be responsible for your own fans actions & place the blame entirely on one side than I dont think you have any right making comments about any of these incidents.

tdv, you've obviously got a right to express your views but I have to say that they don't make a great deal of sense. How you can say that the Robinson incident was a penalty is beyond me. Football isn't a non-contact sport and as long as you get the ball first then some contact with the opposing player is allowed - this happens all the time and is largely unavoidable.
As for the scenes in the stands, I think that it's probably a bit early to say who is completely to blame but there are a few facts and eye-witness reports that suggest that the Spurs fans may not have been 100% at fault. Firstly, the traveling Spurs fans have been extremely well behaved this year in Europe have have caused no trouble whatsoever. They spent the whole day mixing with the Sevilla fans and again, there was no trouble. Then, the over-zealous Police show up and so the violence begins. All it then takes if for a Policeman to strike one Spurs fan with no good reason for doing so and immediately, you've got a situation where the rest of the Spurs fans will want to jump in and protect their friend/fellow supporter: things quickly escalate. Violence from armed Police should always be a last resort.
tdv, what do you think about the young women and the wheelchair-bound person who were repeatedly struck by the armed and protected Police? Were they posing such a serious threat they they had to be so violently subdued? Judging by your recent form, your answers will surely be outrageous.
I'm trying my best to not be biased here because if it turns out that the Spurs fans were to blame then I'd accept that. At the moment though, it seems to me that the Police were at fault for acting in a provocative manner.

Im not saying either party was 100% to blame Im saying that both sides need to take the right amount of responsability for there actions. And it seems to me that most people here are trying to shove the blame to one side. I can only go by what Ive seen & from what I saw was just as bad from both sides. And the first pictures shown from ITV I seen a large amount of Spurs fans throwing bottles & chairs at a small number of subdued police. That however dose not justify police hitting innocent people thats not what I'm saying.

Still think there is alot more penalty desicions given in the Premiership most weeks.

Fair enough mate, I agree that the Spurs fans acted inappropriately but I think that the blame should ultimately fall on whoever started the trouble. In this case, it would seem that the Police were a bit too quick to bring out their batons and the Spurs fans reacted accordingly. This is what's being said by the Spurs fans who were present but then they're bound to blame the Spanish Police I suppose. I guess we'll just have to wait for the results of the investigation.

On the matter of the Robbo penalty though, I simply can't even begin to agree with you there.

The police that there is in Pamplona (from where is Osasuna) isn't the same that there is in Sevilla.

I also have chatted to many Spurs fans on a message board a lot like this one and listened to their eye witness accounts of the violence dealt out by the police.

The facts are that there was no trouble vefore the police started charging and hitting people. I agree that the Spurs fans are partly to blame for the trouble as they shouldnt have reacted to the violence with the way they did (throwing chairs and punches etc) but I know if I saw my friends, family, children, women or disabled people being mercilessly batoned by police I would find it hard not to react too.
