The way I looked at it was using FIFA rankings to determine the placings,
obviously China being hosts they must go in pot 1

Pot 1) China, Germany, Norway, USA
Pot 2) Brazil, Sweden, England, Denmark
Pot 3) Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea
Pot 4) Argentina, Ghana, New Zealand, Nigeria

FIFA state that no group can contain more than one team from a particular confederation, except UEFA which can have a maximum two teams in the same group, because theres more teams from UEFA.
Which means, for example, USA cannot be drawn against Canada.

I picked a death group to illustrate this:
USA
Sweden
Korea
Nigeria
Shocked whoa that would be fun!

So you can figure out a nice group for your team(s) or see what the worst possible outcome could be Wink

Again I do not know how FIFA will do this, I'm just speculating but this is a little fun.
Pick your fav and worst group for your team
Remember no two teams from the same federation unless UEFA ie Sweden and Norway in same group.
And one team from each pot thus meaning 4 teams per group Wink

Brazil never play together until a big event like the WC/Olympics
wonder how they will perform this year.

Nigerian's are always a bit physical
So playing them will always be a tough (not to mention rough) match Laughing

I think Korea would be tougher than Japan...

Easiest group England can hope for would be:
China
England
Australia
Argentina

I watched yestreday part of germany holland on ZDF, germany are efficient as ever a 5-1 win although they had problem with their offside line, they let a player through a few times.

We go head to head then Smoggie , may the best team win Wink

I can see Abby Wambach getting sent off when she goes up against Nigeria Wink

Why do England always get Germany Rolling Eyes , don't fancy our chances there.

Can't really blame them though cos as we know Nigeria are a very physical team
I'd lose me rag playing against them Rolling Eyes

To advance I think :

Germany

USA

Canada

Brazil

I've got a feeling Solo might be dropped for the Nigeria game and Scurry to come in .

mine are:

Group A)
Germany and whoever wants it more...England have a good chance; won't get a better chance, however if Japan find form could be tough and Argentina did beat Brazil

Group B)
USA and Sweden, but Nigeria will be tough

Group C)
Norway and Canada - can't see Aussies or Ghana possing those two teams much of a threat, maybe Cheryl Salisbury

Group D)
Brazil and Denmark - hard group for hosts China, but they did beat the FIFA World Stars 3-2 yesterday and they have new coaching staff.

Stop complaining Laughing
England have a great opportunity, if they cannot advance from that group then I'm afraid France should have been in the finals

I think group B will be decided when Sweden play USA , and all games between these two have been very close.

English are good at complaining it's what we do Laughing
We have time to improve, I think we were lucky to qualify so anything else imo is a bonus! With players coming back from injury and most getting experience from Europe.

They just interviewed Jo Potter on SSNews after Charlton's game at Leeds, and she was hoping to be playing in the final Smile

Well, going into a game thinking you can get to the final can be good and bad. It may make you work a lot harder, or it may take your mind off the game in hand.

Not a bad draw. For those who do not know the Chinese geography Hangzhou Shanghai and Chengdu are hundred of miles away from each other. It is a logistical nightmare with plane travelling hotels and rest times Crying or Very sad
