The Sawtry Colts have a good record this season going by their stats.

I think we have done really well. 3 of the squad played last season, but the rest of the girls had never played before the start of the season.

We have a couple of friendlies pre-season to let them find their feed and they lost 12-0 and 9-0. But were 6-0 down after 10 minutes in the second game. They then just seem to click and realise where they should be and things then moved up hill.

I am really proud of them as they really are a great bunch of girls and most are really keen to improve thier game.

We are now looking to split the girls and have another girls team next season. Hence the other post looking for a coach and it would be great to get a female coach involved.

Sorry to bore you all, have finished now.

You've not bored us at all. It's good to hear about younger teams doing well and hopefully England player's of the future.

It's good to hear that they are getting second team. Will it be another age level up ?

this will actually make 4 teams at the club. main club website at www.sawtrycolts.org

We had a guy start off with under 10's, which we split into U10s & U11s.

The last season we split the U10s in U11s and U12s, He kelp with the U11s and I took the U10s.

We are now splitting the U1os to U10 and U11s.

So next season we will have U10, U11, U12 and U13s.

I have also asked to apoointed as Girls Development Office at the club to try to ensure we have players constantly coming through to eventually have a ladies team with a constant flow of talent to feed it.

I am sure that local parent and girls would prefer to play/be involved with a club which is well structured well supported (we are pciking up some major sponsors) and run in a professional manner with vision to give them something to work towards.

It certainly sounds like the club is being steered in the right direction. Hopefully we'll be hearing more good things about them in the future.
