Hoddle took over in December after Dave Jones was sacked
Glenn Hoddle looks set to extend his reign as Wolves boss next week after taking the club to ninth at the end of the Championship season. The former England manager's contract expires in the summer. He said: "We'll sit down in the early part of this week and, by the back end of next week, we should be saying one way or the other. "They have been positive talks and, if they can continue that way, I don't see a problem." Hoddle, though, said there was still "talking to be done" before any deal could be finalised. But he added: "If I didn't want to stay at Wolves I'd say it's fair if we part company. Have Your Say on 606 What can Hoddle achieve at Wolverhampton Wanderers? "But I've enjoyed it immensely, I've had great support from the club and everyone in the club and the players have worked extremely hard. "We've achieved an 18-game unbeaten run and there are a lot of positives about." Wolves have suffered just one Championship defeat since Hoddle succeeded Dave Jones in December but any play-off ambitions were scuppered by 15 drawn games. Club chief executive Jez Moxey said he was "close to finalising matters" with Hoddle. He told the BBC's Sportsweek programme: "We would like him to be our manager and we think he wants to be with us." |
