Kaka's goal was superb, especially his second goal. I think this season MU is very lucky, they often scored a late goal. Hope the best for Milan.
I still think two players is better than Kaka. First is Francesc Fabregas. He is playing consistent this season(and last season too), great pass(both long and short), and still young. Second is Leo Messi. His goal at Copa Del Rey was superb |

Ok I’ve read through what people are saying I’m not surprised the majority of people hating on Ronaldo, not giving Rooney enough credit and singing Kaka's praises.
In the first half Manchester United were shocking, no cohesion, in attack or defence. The reason I think this was happening is because the back needed some time to settle in with each other, and the attacks were being broken up by rino (who I think was the best player on the park till he got subbed). And yes the first half was Kaka no doubt, having said that had we had a fully fit defence I don’t believe he would have scored either goal, especially not the second. All this rubbish about ohhh he stuck his head and it was so clever is utter bullsh1t, if Evra didn’t take out Heinze completely Kaka would not have scored, however it was a very well taken goal as in the finish. Second half was clearly Manchester United’s, I still don’t understand how Carrick missed and Dida pulled of a top save from Fletcher’s shot, if only that had fallen to Scholes. When rino was taken off the midfield was totally controlled by Manchester United but I felt that even when he was on the balance of power was shifting slowly but surly, however him going off help undoubtedly. Now on to Ronaldo, No he was not his usual explosive self, but what do you expect when the opposition put two or three player on u. Anyone that has played the game will tell you that if you are up against three it is near enough impossible to break free from the shackles. I’m with Marco here when he say that by doing that Ronaldo helped open up space for the rest of the team, and also its not always goals or assist someone does that makes them great. Onto Rooney I see not many if any have given him his dues, I’ve read on these boards how he cant play against top defenders, however he has scored against teams in the top four of the Premiership, I’ve read how he hadn’t scored since the fenerbace hat trick, yet he scored 4 in his last three games and no one has a positive word to say. Also that pass from Scholes was top draw; I bet if Kaka or anyone in the Milan team had done that the majority of these boards would be creaming themselves and testifying how amazing he is and look at that pass. On Fletcher I love his as player a lot of my friend have said he is useless but I’ve had the same faith in him like Sir Alex and if he plays in the middle he can do just that, I now hope he is given the chance to full play to his potential. Bottom line is Manchester United won, will we go through who knows. But i do know one thing if we score first them Milan will need to come at us and that i when we are most dangerous. |

Watch it again. The little header to nod the ball on for himself is class. Yes, i agree that Heinze and Evra made it much easier by taking each other out, but it was a deft little touch at the same time as that collision that he made to just nudge it on and it's a quality bit of awareness. |

what i will agree with you on AMeer is that i feel due to Media hype, many players suffer a backlash by fans. An example of this are players such as Rooney. I feel fans think it is their obligation to therfor bring the hype around certain players down. That is why people have said Rooney cant do it against the best, when i quite clearly think he can, and he has been showing that.
OWEN_ENG, dont make yourself look stupid by saying Rooney was lucky with his goals. You obviously dont know anything if you say that, as they were perfectly timed goals and executed brilliantly. What we have a tendancy to do is hype up players from other countries as well as we do with players in this country. It happens alot when if players from other countries do something well they are overly praised. Yet when they dont live up to the hype they are defended. An example of this is Kaka the other night. I dont think anyone would question he is probably the best player in the world, yet he didnt have one of his best games, although scored 2 quality goals. As many have said went missing in the 2nd half, yet his perofrmance has still been branded a 'masterclass'. Had Rooney done the same, i can imagine people saying, only played well for 1 half, was selfish with his shooting etc. But as its Kaka, its not mentioned. |

Very good posts O Dogg and Benraul. And of course Kaká was some "annonymous" in the second half, Milan was getting an excellent result (1-2) and even after the equalising the draw was a great result for them, they didnt need to push foward. And who knows Ancelotti also knows that he probably said to Kaká to not work hard in offense and help hold the draw

Tell me something if Rooney/Ronaldo had done that and Maldini took Nesta would everyone be saying how amazing it was that Rooney/Ronaldo headed past and ran on...i doubt it very much. |

Exactly. United were up against a world class defence and still put three past them.
Let's just compare... Massimo Oddo Alessandro Nesta Paolo Maldini Marek Jankulovski John O`Shea Wes Brown Gabriel Heinze Patrice Evra Had our defence been at full strength I honestly believe the game would have finished 2-0 or 3-0. |

I think they would. All that was needed was a bit more pace. VDS should have saved it anyway. |

For the clowns saying Ronaldo had such a terrible game have you ever considered for one second in your myopic view of football that he might have just been doing exactly what his manager asked of him?
Im not saying I know what SAF's instructions were to him but maybe he told him "Ronnie whenever you get the all just run at the barstards, they are terrified of you and will put three players on you all night, this will create space for the other players and draw their defenders out of position" Just food for thought, but then again if you dont agree with Johaldo YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL. AT ALL. NOTHING. |

No I never thaught because at around the 50th min I seen Alex Ferguson screaming his head off at Ronaldo. Just face he played bad end off story there were 21 other players on the pitch the whole world dose not revolve the git. |

TDV, to be honest, I think no matter what Ronaldo does - you would still find criticism for him.
Personally, I was estatic that Ronaldo signed a new contract with United. I am pretty sure that a majority of United fans felt the same way. Maybe he is overhyped, but to be honest, I really dont care! As long as he keeps improving, and keeps performing, I will be happy. |

So by disagreeing with me, you admit that you know nothing about football then, yeah? Listen son, show me where in this thread have I said that Ronaldo had a terrible game. I was simply replying to marcofoo's innaccurate observation that Ronaldo was better than Kaka on the night. Ronaldo did OK, nothing more. He had flashes of skill, but never really put it together. The amount of times when running at players that he could of passed it but chose to shoot...it goes back to what I was saying about decision making in matches. His isn't brilliant, but because he's brilliant at running at defenders you can forgive him. I don't buy into this "he was brilliant because he took players out of the game" idea. Ronaldo is rated so highly because of what he can do with the ball at his feet, not with the ball away from him. In that regard, he could have done better. In comparison to Kaka, the Brazilian had no help up front. The defence could more or less focus on his threat, yet he still had a great game. I'd rate his performance as 6.5/10. Kaka was 8.5/10. |

I did notice about 3 times maybe more that ronaldo tried to poke the ball through the legs of the opposing team players but failed...maybe the awards went to his head slightly!

No I thaught he had a great game against Roma. But thats just one big game & really the only big 1 he has performed in all season. Thats a fact. Scoring goals against teams like Villa, Fulham, Boro etc... has been a huge help to us this season but taking these teams apart dose not make him the best player in the world when he starts taking apart solid teams & making world class defenders look stupid thats what will make him the best player in the world. And when Ive seen him play against the top teams this season I have seen no evidence that suggests he ever will take these teams apart. |
