So, as the first leg thread has got slightly side tracked, lets talk about the 2nd legs now. What do you see happening tomorrow night at Anfield?

Can Liverpool turn it around with Carvalho likely to miss out?

Or are Chelsea going to be to strong?

discuss..........

I think we will be too strong. But i thought that last time and we lost so anything could happen. Think it will be a better game than the first leg. Gutted about Persie but we can still beat you!

i think it will def be a better game than the first. For entertainment Liverpool away is not the best to watch, but at Anfield very much different story.

Im certain Crouch will start. If i was Rafa and Essien plays at the back, i would tell Crouch to stick with Essien. It is quite clear that Essien's positional sence is not that good when out of his position and that was highlighted with the Davies goal on the weekend. Then if Terry comes across to help Essien out that should give Kuyt and our midfield more room and space to break into goal threatening positions.

Pennant should therfore start on the right and Gerrard IN THE MIDDLE FOR GOD'S SAKE RAFA!!!

Zenden will hopefully be misisng out, and FInnan included which might therfore allow Riise to play left side midfield with Arbeloa behind him at left back.

Drogba is obviously a major threat with his power up front, as is the Chelsea midfield, just need to get at them from the off and give them no time to settle.

Chelsea will have to attack if they want to qualify. If they even attempt to defend a 1 goal lead they will be in the sh*t.

Chelsea has the best defence in the Prem, and if some team in the world can succed with that tactic, it's us. Carvalho is out, but I hope Mourinho will go for Bola in the middle and Essien on right back. Then we'll still have a decent defence.

We have to be tight in midfield.Try and pack out the middle, i would want Essien to play along side Terry, Boula isn't good enough for me.

Exactly. Carvalho has been your best defender all season. And don't forget u lost 2-0 at Anfield with a weakened defence earlier this season.

Liverpool have fresh legs.

One thing in Chelsea's favour is that Ballack is out injured Smile

Well its going to be the same defence other than Terry in for Geremi. And Terry hasn't looked the same player since he came back from injury.

This is the only game that matters to Liverpool for the rest of the season. I see it being tight.

I'll go for 1-1

That's a big, big, big difference. And Essien is actually good at playing right back.

After the good news for Chelsea that Ballack is out injured they now have Shevchenko out injured.

Things just keep getting better for Chelsea fans. And I'm not being sarcastic!

I don't think ive been as nervous about a game like this before, I'm looking forward to it though. Ive just heard that Shevchenko is injured(And I see Marco as just said that) for this one but that might not make any difference because Kalou has been doing well recently. Cravalho missing is a big plus for us though. Like Johaldo said in the other thread, They may put Essien in the center of defence which worked out well for us in the premiership fixture at Anfield.

As for our formation, I wouldnt mind it if Pennant was on the right and Gerrard was in the middle, Like Benj says. Stevie G would relish the opportunity to play in the middle and have a big influence on the game. I have a sneaky feeling that Alonso will be dropped, I could be wrong but Rafa may put Gerrard and Mascherano in the middle.

Riise must play on the left of midfield for this game, Pending on what the status of Finnans injury is. Zenden and Gonzalez must not play! Kewell as just played tonight for the reserves against Everton but it's too soon for this game.

I'll expect us to play a high-tempo game from the start, with the Anfield crowd roaring the team on. Come on!

i like the sound of all that Tez. I think Alonso is amazing but i think it is clear Gerrard must be in the middle so its only natural that either Mascherano or Alonso give way. Maybe ALonso should sit this one put, but after missing the last Anfield match between the 2 sides i bet given the chance would play well.

Can't wait to see the squads

It might be possible for Mourinho to put Kalou and Drogba along in the forward with the Joe Cole's support in the right wing.. dunno ;p

I hope Liverpool v Chelsea can actually put on a show tonight. The Premiership has 3 teams in the last 4 and they aren't really contributing too much to turning foreigners conceptions of the Premiership being overrated.

The difference tonight is that Liverpool have to do whatever they can, they have to throw the kitchen sink at Chelsea and at the same time keep their defence solid. I have a sneaking suspicion that both teams will keep it relatively tight until half time and then the Scousers will go all out in the second half and either get one themselves or get caught on the break. I suspect the latter.

I hope Liverpool can overturn Chelsea and we can do the same in Milan, and we can have the easier match in the final. No offence but it's true.
