Espanyol plays most of the time defensive but their counter-attack are very dangerous. They have scored a lot of goals like that during this uefa cup.

Sevilla, i don't know how they played, i've only seen the final last year and the match against the Spurs and they were defending.

Finally Sevilla won on penalties (suposedly, Sevilla has better players and Palov is one of the best goalkeepers of the world). My conglatulations to the team.
I was neutral on this match, but I expected Espanyol to win. The have done an impressive game (even with only 10) and they never gave up. I feel sorry for them because Sevilla won the trophie the last year but Espaņol never won it Crying or Very sad . For me, both of the teams deserved to win this match.

Congrats to Sevilla, Sevilla equals Real Madrid with 2 uefa cup won successively. Cool

It was a good game, on the first goal of Sevilla Palop sent the ball with his arm to Adriano, i don't know how much meters. Shocked

Espanyol had dominated the first period and Sevilla the other part of the match, because Espanyol had played with 10 players most of the match.

Sevilla had several big occasions to score more goals, but the goal keeper and the defense of Espanyol had resist, and there was this unexpected goal of Jonatas at the end of the match just in the moment Sevilla could scored their third goal. Surprised

It was the second uefa cup final that Espanyol lost on penaltys, they have no luck. Sad

What a match!

I wanted Espanyol to win, they played with one player less a lot of minutes and still managed to score and bring some entertainment.

Congrats to Sevilla though!

Me and Platini were surprised by the quality of the pitch and the grass. Smile

Platini gave his first trophy 20 years after he played his last match with Juventus May 17th 1987.

Thoroughly enjoyed what turned out to be a great Cup Final. It was clear from the outset that both teams were virtually desperate to win it and it was in my mind a great spectacle. I started off watching as a passive neutral, but found myself rooting for Espanyol as the game went on. Sevilla were very frustrating at times, and often looked like they were trying to walk the ball into the net and it just neede someone to take a chance and then maybe penalties would not have been necessary. I was thoroughly impressed however of both teams Goalkeepers - Palop and Irairoz (sp?) An unbelievable save from Palop in the second half really inspired confidence.
