Giggs' momentum carried on from when he touched the ball. This is not a foul in any area of the pitch or on any player, even the goalkeeper.

The only reason the goal was not given was because the ref and linesman could not see it. Simple as that.

we have the benefit of tv replays and it clearly showed Cech had saved Giggs shot before his momentum carried Cech and the ball over the line . It was neither a goal or a foul as the referee did not whistle for anything .

If a referee was able to use tv replays then he would have signalled a foul against Cech and a free kick to Chelsea .

The linesman obviously assumed it was a good save by Cech from Giggs shot and that the ball had not crossed the line .

But anyway Man Utd did not do enough to win the match and a lapse in concentration cost them dear .

I'm neutral, but I don't see how anyone can say United was robbed. The ref missed the foul on Cech, which happens sometimes (and don't say that since he didnt blow the whistle that there was 'no foul'....let's be real here), and the ref missed the ball going over the line. Missing the first one cancels out missing the second. I don't see a problem.

Anyone who expected an end to end enthralling game of football doesn't understand the game at all. This was always going to be a cagey "don't concede the first goal" type of game.

Giggs should have scored, Rooney played quite well to be fair to the lad but Ronaldo was anonymous. On the Blue side, I thought Drogba was having a quiet game but he left Rio for dead for the one-two and the rest is history. Essien had a great game but was also caught napping a couple of times but United lost their composure in the attacking third.

I'm glad the first final at the new Wembley wasn't settled by spot kicks. I know some of you like them (especially Liverpool fans) but I'd much rather see a goal settle it, and for the negative play today, it was a beautifully crafted goal. Worthy of winning the cup.

It wasn't a foul though. Essien had fouled Giggs and this was why he went to ground in the first place.

What about Rooney playing on his own, yet the only attacking threat we caused.

What about Vidic and Ferdinand who were excellent all day, only beaten by a brilliant bit of skill.

Giggs didn't complain about the "foul", he complained that the ball crossed the line. It clearly did, but Giggs momentum pushed Cech over the line. Now, once the ball is in both hands of the keeper any contact on him is a foul, regardless of how the contact was made i.e. deliberate or not.

End of. Stop crying and take it like a Cockney Red.

Like I said, I've heard all this before and none of it makes sense so lets just leave it there shall we. I've sed my part and I know I'm right.

Marcofoo, I'd like to ask for your reasoning behind the outrageous claims you made about thinking Giggs should retire......

Where is the reasoning behind that? He was the best left sided player in the Premiership this season and performed steadily throughout. His experience in part with the rest of the team won us the league. He set up goals, scored a few farily vital ones and played well up front, in midfield and on the flank.

Who would we replace him with? Why would we replace him right now?

Giggs is smack bang back on form....he has had a season to roll back the years, not that he is some ageing Stanley Matthews or anything.

Over the last few weeks I have become increasingly frustrated with him. He started the season well but gradually declined. Maybe retiring is an overstatement but he certainly should not be our first choice on the left.

He doesn't have the pace required for a winger. He can no longer beat people, he simply runs at them, stops and passes to the left back. And he can't play as a first choice central midfielder.

Disappointing game as everyones already been saying. Giggs should have had a goal, the ref didnt blow for a free but he obviously couldnt tell if the ball crossed the line so unless he was sure then he was right not to give it. Theres no point complaining about it now. We were 2nd best overall and Chelsea deserved the win, only the Vidic, Ferdinand, Scholes & Rooney impressed me for United and we just never realy ooked like we wanted to win

It was dull but still interesting. The stadium was magnificent but for such a class stadium the pitch was poor which did'nt help the match. Drogba's goal was very good though.
