On a serious note, Good to hear about Man Utd. Nice to see they don't win everything and give us a chance over here.

Man Utd don't have a women's team , they broke up a couple of seasons ago due to the funding being axed.

From one of the richest clubs in the world, that's [beep!] poor.
So Leeds are better than them at something? Good.

Will be interesting to see if they are playing anywhere next season...Julie Chipchase has left and Natalie Preston has signed for Blackburn...keep hearing stories about Sue Smith joining Doncaster too...ALthough they did sign Nicola Hobbs which seems an odd one in view of the exodus of players the other way ! If you want to keep up with all the gossip you know where to look Wink

Shocked Chipchase leaves Leeds Shocked

Leeds United Ladies have parted company with their manager of four years, Julie Chipchase. Julie has found her work and personal commitments taking up more of her time and she wants to take time away from the demands of the Women's Premier league to concentrate on other things.

Julie took Leeds to two national Cup finals in the past two years and finished fifth in The FA Women's Premier league this last season.

Chairperson Melanie Vauvelle commented: "It is with great sadness that we accept the resignation of Julie, but fully understand the reasons. Julie had found it increasingly difficult to make all the training sessions and matches due to work and personal commitments.

"We would like to put on record our thanks and appreciation to Julie for taking the club forward, establishing it as one of the top sides in the country and achieving a remarkable record of being in two National Cup finals in two years, an achievement most clubs never succeed in their entire history. Julie has show great loyalty and commitment over the four years through the good and difficult times.

"We would like to wish Julie all the best for the future.

"We would like to now bring in some one in who can build on the good work already in place with Julie and take the club to another level, the club is very ambitious and as well as having an array of quality players already at the club, we also have some of the most talented young players in the country still to come through.

"Leeds United Ladies have some very exciting things happening which will help secure the clubs long term future and we hope to make some big announcements in the near future."

Chipchase said: "It is very hard to be leaving Leeds. The four years that I have been at the club have been very rewarding for me personally, I have made many friends within the club and have experienced many highs.

"Obviously getting through to the two cup finals and seeing some really talented players come through from the youth teams are ones that stick out. All the players have worked so hard for me, they are a fantastic bunch of players with so much ability and commitment.

"I will be having a season out of managing to concentrate on work and personal commitments, I hope to use the following season to reflect on the past 10 years of managing/coaching within the Women's Premier League and to take time to develop myself further to become a better manager and coach .

"When I check the scores on a Sunday evening Leeds will be the first I look for, I genuinely wish the club good luck for next season and hope all the hard work is rewarded."

That's really bad for Leeds. I always wonder what Sue Smith might do, she is a quality player and I have a feeling she may be leaving if others leave too.

At least this looks a bit promising:

I'm guessing the main reason we were doing so well was down to the manager.
All the best to them now.

Advertising for manager? I've always wanted to manage a football team Smile

Drive, ambition, commitment - yeah, not a problem.

Do you think they'll accept Xpert11 management experience in place of actual experience? I can just see the interview now. Arrow

Didn't have to think twice.

I did look up some match reports though. I see Kelly Smith scored a hat-trick against us in that 6-0 drubbing.

B*tch. H@te her! Wink
