Colwyn Bay and Llandudno Junction ladies’ teams met at the weekend,
with Colwyn Bay winning 6-1.
Bay scorers were : Emma Fisher (2);
Hayley Trimm; Sara Williams; Becky Morgan and Sally Evans.

Twmcat have you been there?
You've got two ladies' teams near you,
you should go to their games and support them Cool

The Welsh double L is pronounced 'sl' with 's' sounding funny Laughing
I bet Jayne's real name is Lludlow,
she just cut on L off so people have no problem pronouncing it Laughing

Hey Smog - I bet you can say Colwyn Bay Smile

And I realised that Colwyn Bay had a ladies team after a player introduced herself in the newcomers section, but only did the one post.
Didn't know Llandudno Jct had a team though.

Despite being born in Collie Bay, I spent my early years in Llandudno Jct, so would be more interested in them as a team (You didn't say who their scorer was btw).
The men's team who used to play there were the first team I saw play, and even qualified for Europe.

And, Agent S, the pronunciation of the "dud" part is really "did".
I know you say it correctly, but don't try and confuse all these people who want to holiday in Wales Laughing

You pronounce it fine Wink

But the proper way to describe the pronunciation of "Ll"" is as an unvoiced "L" Very Happy

And I forgot to mention -justme, the letters "L" and "Ll" are 2 separate letters in Welsh Wink

You described it like that before we met
and I was pronouncing it (L)andudno which was wrong.
It really sounds like (s)Landidno to me Razz
(The (s) being pronounced as if you had a lisp) Laughing

I just noticed last week's local free weekly rag in Colwyn Bay - it had a pic on the back page showing a few Colwyn Bay ladies.

Apparently they won the North Wales league without a defeat.

But, to put things in perspective, Cardiff put 6 past them in the Welsh Cup semi final.

As I live in Llandudno, where most of he hotels and guest houses are, I should be able to find one that suits you. If you like, PM me with your requirements, or, if you prefer, contact Llandudno Tourist Board on 01492 876413.

I assume you won't be wanting somewhere like Bodysgallen Hall, where Tom Jones stayed a couple of years ago, although rooms are from as little as £135 pn Laughing

And perhaps I'll get to watch llandudno Junction at last Very Happy
