Doyle Relishing New Season |

Kevin Doyle can't wait for the new season to begin.
The new Barclays Premiership campaign is a little more than six weeks away, and the frontman is eager to get back into the swing of things. He told readingfc.co.uk, "I'm looking forward to getting back to training, I'm in on Monday just to get going again. "Then we've got Korea, that'll be different and there's a whole new season to look forward to. "With the fixtures things really get going straight away! "We had a gentler start last time, but this team there's the top teams to deal with. You've got to play them sometime though. "My summer has been good, I had the trip to America, then I went back to Ireland and I'm in England now. "America was grand, I'd never been out there before. Everybody got games under their belts and it was good for all of us." Kevin missed out on the chance to captain his country as he came off before skipper Kevin Kilbane. "I came off before he did, and other than him I think I was the highest capped player so might have got it! "I was in the dressing room so I don't know who it went to, but I'm sure Hunty did his best!" Finally, Kevin had family business to attend to over the summer. "I was best man at my brother's wedding on Friday, it was a great day. My speech wasn't too bad in the end either, I was surprised!" He was due to play in a testimonial at Cork on Monday, but the game had to be postponed. |
