What does this forum think about current Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon?
That's being one of the subjects I've been thinking about since January.I don't get much news aside from the NET and the interesting posts that you guys deliver on a daily basis, that's why I'd like to hear some opinions from anyone out there who has anything to comment. Cause the way I see it, I can't understand why is he still president of the club-the presidency that promised much, but has yet to deliver anything except the League title-which I admit was an achievement that could not have been done without the help of the current coach,WHICH he never gave much public support. Discussing on what he has done, let's see: A Brazilian ace,a Dutch winger, and a Spainish midfielder were rumored to be on their way to the Bernabeau if he won the presidency(did i get this right, correct me if i got any facts wrong)-which the voting itself was in doubt-he burned the mailman. Also, there was that speech? At a certain university?Players being overpaid.. Guti must have been smiling.. Beckham.. for free? The U.S must have thought they were high. Now, the coach. After 4 years since we've won anything, you would think that someone in their right sense of mind would try their best to keep the coach.Don't know if it's true, but he's trying to replace him? Get a grip fool! All the yak-and yak on the official site on how much he values hard work and true values of the club, did he think he could have actually done it without the coach? Perez did it once before, getting rid of the winning coach. That ended his presidency and 4 years without a trophy. Now he's going to do the very same thing? Some people just don't learn. I salute my respect to Capello, regardless on whether he'll be around next year or not.Over the last 12 games,he has really been the best coach.Sometimes it's not the way the coach starts a match,is the manner he ends it.That's why, I always have respect for coaches who can change games at will. It's the best foundation to launch a bid to win the Champion's League, yet the president feels otherwise.Seriously, Capello did NOT do anything wrong-aside from the loss of Becks, which i felt was harsh on the coach. On the footballing results,we actually lost out in both the Champion's League and Copa del Rey due to away goals(4-4,1-1).He has instilled a hardworking ethic in the dressing room, and he has repeatedly admitted that he'd like to continue, why change? There's is a saying though, don't fix it unless it's broken. What do you think? Thanx for reading. |

Calderon will continue and Capello will be replaced. Schuster will be the new coach. A Barça member will be the coach of Madrid....

i just can no believe capello (the best manager in the world imo) would be replaced by anyone. it's insane!
if calderon going means capello stays, then good bye calderon. |

I don't think Real should replace anyone. We need stability and sacking the coach or the president is not a good way to begin a new season. Calderon is far from being my fav president, but let him do his job. Same with Capello: this man never promised a brilliant football, he just promised a tittle, and he fulfilled his promise, something not everyone can do.

well i don't want calderon to go, but i was [beep!] off with him trying to replce capello. i would pefer everyone to stay, but if he sacks capello then he can [beep!] off. he won't be helping the team at all and when we then fail to retain the title because of capello's absence he'll be the one in the firing line.

Calderon is nutcase. Plain & simple.

lol, i love how you worded it. it's true though, he is.

Capello is oficially sacked. They have a reunion today at 12.00 to decide who are they signing. Schuster is the most likely to get the charge.

so madrid madness strikes again.
i don't know what to say really, it's hard to imagine anyone sacking capello. real madrid is being run by a bunch of nutcases, calderon is the only one. so how do you feel raul? upset? embarressed that your team continue to make such stupid decisions even after they've suffered from them in the past? [beep!] off? |

Real must be the most unstable club in the World. They are continuasly replacing there manager, whether they succeed or not.
Real need to sort out there boardroom to get some certainty about there club, nobody know whether there coming or going at the moment and its a disgrace. I cannot beleive a manager who won them the league, has been sacked ! Where is the justice ? |

I always thought that keeping a manager for more than 10 years (like Man Utd with Ferguson) was terrible for a team, but it's even more terrible than you sack one (or two or three) managers each season, even when your team wins the championship.
I don't feel this has been a good decision but I'll wait til October/November to insult Mijatovic, Calderon and their families |

even if schuster does do a good job, i still think it was the wrong decision. capello would've made madrid a real force in the Champions League next season, and i'm sure we would've been much stronger in the league as well. if schuster does well, then the board have been lucky.
so why do you think it's bad to keep 1 manager for 10 years? i hasn't done Arsenal and Man Utd much harm. having 1 manager for a long time keeps the club stable and generally the team are consistantly good and will challenge titles every season. what's wrong with that? |

they shud all b replace the board and chairman coz there crap, and manager coz lots of madrid fans didnt like the style of football being played especially not having a creative midfield player playin regularly in the centre

Having one manager for 10 years means you don't accept evolution, innovation. Sounds like one of those traditions in Britain.
Having 2 managers per year means you have no [beep!] stability |
ye so they need a gd manager who will b sucseful but also play attractive football.

Frank Rijkard ?

yeah but towards the end of the season when we were playing well, our games were not boring at all. they were very exciting, especially with all the late goals we scored. capello was going to buy a play maker anyway, so what's the problem? |

The Madrid board are off their heads, thats the problem.
There will be no stability at Real until that board has a complete re - shuffle. |
our board might as well be the barca board, because they seem to be doing everything they can to ruin this club.

Okay, don't be dramatic either!
