Now I havnt been on here for a while, but i have my reasons, however whos bright spark idea was it to give players a release clause. Owen can leeve for 9 mill, to be honest thast bullsh*te and you know it.

Owen is staying.

Martins has a release clause too.

I think the papers have been stiring up crap again about Arsenal wanting Owen and Martins but I don't think it will happen.

Owen would go to Liverpool, he loved the club but that will not happen under their current management.

Correct me if im wrong but hasnt Alex Ferguson already commented on Owen and has said that hes not interested, and as for Liverpool, they are close to signing Fernando Torres, so why would they want Owen?!?

Obafemi Martins is a different story, i can see him going to The Emirates, yeh he was a real good goalscorer and scored some crackers but to me he wasnt much of a team player. I would be happy to see him stay but i wouldnt be too upset if he goes.

Thats what im saying, he wont say hes staying till he knows the top 4 dont want him, when he finds that out he will make it seem like he wanted to stay all along, I would rather play Luque.

In case you didn't here:-

Michael Owen has insisted he is happy to be at Newcastle and is desperate to produce his best form next season.

Owen, 27, has been linked a move away from St James' Park, but he revealed he his committed to the Magpies.

"I believe that these can be good times to be at Newcastle, which is why I am more than happy to be here.

"There has been plenty of speculation about my future, but I can assure the Newcastle fans that I didn't start any of it," he told The Times.

Owen missed most of last season after suffering a serious knee injury while playing for England at the 2006 World Cup and is determined to prove himself at St James' Park.

"There was a lot of talk from other quarters and my attitude to rumour has always been to ignore it.

"I prefer to let my actions speak for themselves and I just wish there had been more opportunities to show the Newcastle fans what I am capable of. I am sure that is to come this season."

Has anyone noticed the fact that Owen released that statment after all the possibilities of moving away from the club had died down, for instance, Man U said they didnt want him, Liverpool signed Torres, and i have heard nothing else from the Arsenal point of view, and also Man City have stated they dont want him........
