graham rix - hearts |
|
over the weekend, in the papers hearts want to appoint graham rix as manager, for me my personal opinion is that he is inexperienced and crap at managing football clubs. he left as oxford manager in march after defeat after defeat and he got sacked and he was crap at Portsmouth and if he got appointed the board can expect a fans backlash and hearts football club will not be the same again, people are talking about winning the spl and if graham rix is appointed people will start talking about relegation.

graham rix is a "big name" manager?

What happened to Robson, Ranieri or Hitzfeld. Romanov said he wanted a big name manager to show his ambition. Strange decision...

the hearts fans are apparently protesting romanovs desicion to make rix as manager!

Looks like they got him!!!
Graham Rix has confirmed to Sky Sports News his appointment as Hearts' new head coach. An official announcement is expected from Tynecastle at 2pm on Tuesday after Rix spent Monday at The Jambos' training ground. Rix is now relishing the opportunity to cut his teeth in top flight management having watched his new charges in action against Dundee United at the weekend. "I'm very excited about working with them, I saw them play on Saturday, I thought they were excellent, especially first half and I'm really looking forward to the challenge," Rix said. "It's a massive chance, I'm very grateful for the opportunity and I am going to make the most of it. "But there will be a press conference tomorrow and I will give more details then. "I'm delighted to have met them, they're a good set of lads and I'm looking forward to it." The former Portsmouth manager has been out of football since leaving League Two Oxford in March after just one season at The Kassam Stadium. Rix's appointment has brought to an end the weeks of uncertainty that have surrounded the Edinburgh club since the departure of George Burley. Chairman George Foulkes and chief executive Phil Anderton subsequently left the club in acrimonious fashion and majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov's revolution will roll on with Rix at the helm. Hearts will also announce their new director of football at Tuesday's press conference. |

All the big names were scared away by the turmoil the club seems to be going through at the moment and the dictatorial style of management that Romanov has. |

Well this is certainly not the kind of manager the hearts fans wanted to see replacing George Burley.

And the Romanovs justification for sacking him was that it needed to be done to take Hearts 'to the next step', this all looks like step backwards to me!

They are apparantley they are looking to employ a senior director of football, maybe that is where the name comes in!!
Rix has won no more the 30% of the games he has had whilst a manager - hardly a step forward in my opinion! |

I am very saddened by the wholly negative response to Graham Rix's appointment as head coach.
Clearly the Romanovs are their own people and are non fussed by public opinion. Sadly, the previous regime are no more but Edinburgh has a club in position to break the Glasgow dominance. All those players that have worked with Graham will agree that he is a players' coach; all have huge respect for him and are willing to go that bit further for him. He has a vast wealth of experience in football both in the UK and continental Europe and I think it more fair to listen to the plaudits of Vialli, Hoddle and Duffy than listen to the slightly mis informed views of the media. Prior to the Morhino era he still remains the most successful coach at Chelsea and I believe he deserves this chance. |
