Well I dont think you can lack our ambition this summer targetting players like Roy Carroll, Richard Wright & Robbie Fowler. If Fowler joins Chopra & Fowler will form a deadly partnership and I beleive both would score over 20 goals next season. Hopefully we can pull this one off ! |

He was good for a couple of seasons here in Cyprus. He was OK for a season in Greece, but the coach didn't give him too many chances.
He's a good player, imo, and when on his day he can do some damage from the right. Of course, you can't compare the Cyprus league with the Championship and even the Greek league is not the best test for a player, so it remains to be seen whether he can cut it there or not. |

We are desperately in need of a right winger, striker and a goalkeeper with only one proffesional goalkeeper on our books.
we have around 8 midfielders with only 3 right footers and one of them is out on loan to Dundee. We have 5 left footed midfielders with Parry, Whittingham, Ledley, Mcphail & Capaldi and our 2 right footers are both central midfielders Scimeca & Rae. So we are in real need of a quality natural right winger otherwise I think it will be between Ledley, Whittingham & Parry for that right midfield place. Lets see if he can impress on Saturday. |

Looks like he impressed in the match. He has now go on tour today with the squad to Portugal for a week and the club will assess his position at the end of that week.

New Revelations: From foxsports.com.au
PORT Vale chairman Bill Bratt has confirmed the English Football League One club has made an approach to sign former Liverpool and England striker Robbie Fowler. The 32-year-old, a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season, is a target for Leicester City and Cardiff City and has also reopened talks with Sydney FC. Whether or not a player who has scored 162 Premier League goals would fancy facing the likes of Yeovil and Cheltenham remains to be seen, but Bratt is prepared to take a chance on the move. He said overnight: "We've approached Robbie Fowler's agent to see whether he would be interested in playing for Port Vale. "We obviously can't afford to pay him what other clubs can, but he's a very wealthy man anyway and we hope he may want to play for the pleasure of it. "I believe Cardiff are offering him £8000 ($18,000) a week and we can't match that. "But it's a chance for us as far as I'm concerned. We've asked the question and if the answer's 'no', it's 'no'." Vale's average home attendance was just 4724 last season as they finished 12th in League One, but Bratt hopes that the lure of regular football in Martin Foyle's starting line-up may persuade Fowler to move to Vale Park. Bratt said: "I believe he has other offers but he may fancy the club and it may be something he wants to do. "You don't go from being a brilliant player to a bad player overnight and we think he would be a superb addition for us. "We can offer him regular football and at his age that may be what he is looking for. "We have enquired about his availability and we have to wait for his agent to get back to us before we can discuss terms." Fowler's agent, George Scott, told the Stoke Sentinel; "I've had many a good night in Stoke-on-Trent, so you never know. "Robbie is ruling nothing out, especially if it is an ambitious club and he can see himself going there and taking them up to a new level." |

According to 2bet we are now favourites to sign Robbie Fowler now that Chopra has left us.
We are 2/1 to sign Fowler with Sydney close behind on 3/1. |

With the Chopra profit you've got a bit more to play with wage wise and I'm sure there'll be property in Cardiff to attract Robbie's entrepreneurial eye? I reckon he's got a couple of years left in him and with the right service is a guaranteed 20+ a season striker still. |

Fowler has asked for 48 hours to make a decision.
Apparently its now between Cardiff and Sydney. We are offering Robbie Fowler a £1.5 million deal over the year, if we go up he gets £800,000. Apparently he likes it in Sydney, but it is up to his family now ! |

I feel he would be mad to go to Sydney - maybe right at the very tail end of his career, but not while he could still offer Cardiff something in the Championship.

What was his squad number?
Wasn't very good in his second spell for Liverpool, but will be a great Championship player |
