ANOTHER MEDAL

London monthly World Soccer published one of those "all time" lists that make the fans swoon. The Milan team coached by Arrigo Sacchi is judged as the best club side of all time

MILAN - A great satisfaction for the Rossoneri history. "World Soccer" magazine published the all time list of the best football teams on basis of a survey made among football experts from around the world.

Here is the classification: http://www.worldsoccer.com/greatest/teams.php

For the Rossoneri side coached by Arrigo Sacchi there is the great satisfaction of being named the first club team in the standings after Pelé's Brazil side of 1970, Puskas' Hungary of 1953-54, and the Holland starring Cruyff of 1974. Not just that: Sacchi's Milan, who are fondly remembered even today by president Berlusconi and all the Milan fans, is the only Italian club side cited on the list, composed of 20 teams.

Let's recall all the trophies won by the Milan side coached by Arrigo Sacchi:

1987-88: Scudetto

1988-89: European Champions Cup, Italian Supercup

1989-90: Intercontinental Cup, European Supercup, and European Champions Cup

1990-91: Intercontinental Cup, European Supercup

Well there ya go. Was abit suprised Juventus of the mid 80's were not in the list.

Yeah it was sh!t alrite, if you defended like that nowadays you'd get shot. Actually alot of them goals are way to high up. And were is Ronaldo's goal vs Compostella

watch George Weah's goal for Milan. thats a goal and a half. cant recall the opponents now. he controlled the ball in his own box and literally sprinted all the way through on his won and buried it.

on the topic...

that Milan side were f*cking fantastic. the only team i would watch Football Italia for when i was a kid. they had some amazing players and really were a class above anything seen today.

This Milan team of 89/90 didn't even win the Scudetto , so you could say they weren't even the best team in Italy .

You could argue that the Milan team which won 3 Scudettos on the bounce , one with an unbeaten season from 91/92 to 93/94 were better , plus they rounded it off by thrashing Barca 4-0 in the European Cup Final .

How about the Ajax team of the early 70's , 3 European Cups on the trot . The 71-72 won their domestic double , European Cup , European Supercup and World Club Championship . Their league record that year was ; played 34 , won 30 , drawn 3 , lost 1 Shocked

I can't see the goals cuz I'm in work, but is that Pele goal the one where he flicks it over the defender & volleys it into the bottom corner? If so it fully deserves to be in the list. There are many factors that determine goal quality, such as level of opponent, competivness of game, even things such as player age..

Mentioning great teams, where is the Celtic side of late 60's? 1st northern European team to lift the European cup. Domimnated domestic football as well
