Defoe Staying! |
|
I have it from a reliable source that Jermaine Defoe has decided to stay at Spurs and fight for his place in the team. He wont sign a new deal however.
In other news there will be atleast two more players signed this window, confident of Prince deal but not done yet. Bale is fit after scare against St Pats. And management very happy with the looks of Taarabt and Bent. |

Oh yea and Gardner has been told he is 5th choice centerback now and can stay to fight for his spot or can leave if he likes.
City, Villa, and Birmingham interested. Price will be 3.5-4.5million (hahahhahahahaha) He has failed medicals at Wham and Charlton before tho so hopefully someone will take his glass knees. (Spurs may use the money for Davies if he goes) |

All good news really. I've always preferred Defoe to stay, but Mido has to go.
I'm delighted to hear Bale is okay and if we can get around 4M for Gardener i will be laughing. Also there is talk in the NOTW today that Kaboul has chosen Spurs over Chelsea for the sake of first-team football, but looking to move to a 'top club' in future. |

he'll move to a top club unless we challenge for CL positions i reckon

oh kaboul lol, where was I supposed to get that from?
Um yea I guess, although I think he will make himself first choice at Spurs either way by King getting crocked or replacing Dawson if he really is that good so that should be enough for him. |

I'm glad Defoe is staying. Heard Villa might come in for him but staying in London and playing European football is probably more of an attractive offer than moving to Birmingham and playing regularly (yes, birmingham really is that bad), so i suppose we'll just have to see what happens. Can't blame him if he goes somewhere just to get a game.
As for Gardner, I doubt he'll ever play for us again tbh, even if he doesn't move this summer. Kaboul looks a great prsopect and i think martin'll have him n Micky battling it out for Ledleys partner. I must go on to say though, i think 16 million pounds for Darren Bent was an absolute joke, i don't think he's even worth 5. That much money for an English striker with only 2 caps is ridiculous. Would rather have Defoe over Bent ANY day. |

Disagree. Bent will get loads of goals for us, look how many he got playing for that complete shower of [beep!] Charlton, imagine what he can do for us?
We might have paid a bit much for him but our first team is a lot better with him in it and Defoe out. Theres no two ways about it. |

Hmm i dunno man. I just won't be surprised if Bent turns out to be a massive flop. And if he does, what will be worst about it is the amount of cash we coughed up for him. I really hope he helps us get into the Champions League so i can eat my words but i if we end up keeping Defoe then he'll probably only be used just as sparingly as Bent because we both know it's all about Robbie and Dimitar. Depending on the injury situation obviously.
See where you're coming from though man definitely. |

Hes already proved he can score goals in the Premiership, dont see him being a lfop myself.
Id be more worried about getting a foreign player in, like Torres for example, you never know who is and who isnt going to make it in the Premiership. |

Have to agree with Jono here. Darren Bent is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and thats with Charlton! Imagine with the quality service of our midfield the amount of goals he will bag.
On the other hand, he was a bit pricey and Keano and Berby are 1st choice so i just hope he understands and Jol can keep him happy. For me this season, I cant help having great expectations for Spurs. COYS!!! |

Keane and Berbs are rightly first choice but for certain games I think Bent should definitely be first choice to start.
Take our first up game against Sunderland, going to be a really toguh match away from home against a pumped up, physical side with the crowd behind them. I would definitely start Bent and Berbs in this one. |
