Peter Crouch - Southampton and England?

I would just like to ask people views on the news that Peter Crouch maybe called up to the England squad for the trip to America!

Personally i think he is an average player in a bad team but is no way international quality!

In my view Sven should take Under 21 Internationals who have performed well at that level like Darren Bent or Dean Ashton to give them a feel of the squad and the atmosphere of senior internationals!

But come on Sven - Peter Crouch!

He will never be top class surley!?!?!?

I think what they see Crouch as, is an Alternative. The same as how they tried to Utilise Heskey. I do not think that he is International Class, and dont think he ever will be.

I also agree that this is an opportunity to try out the U21 stars.

Crouch has scored some goals for the saints but was a bit part player at Villa last season!

Too gangly but ability in the air and some real skil with the ball at his feet!

Let Darren Bent of Ipswich go - He has a real chance!

I dont rate him at all. The only reason he is any good is because he is tall and defenders cant touch him in the air. Reminds me of Leo Fortune-West at cardiff !
