I don't know if outrageous is a strong enough word, infact I don't think any word can explain what getting '£1,000 in about very 1 hr 15 mins' for playing a game is.

Well, I enjoy watching the football, the players are pleasant and approachable, and I can afford it.

The cheapest train tic now is £63 - and will rise in price if I don't get it now - but, maybe there won't be any tix for the game - they are only available to Silver members atm.

I take it you live fairly close by then? Cambridge sit in the Eastern Region Prem. They look to have struggled though, which is suprising as the next closest club with a C of E is Norwich. I would say the odds of us turning them over are 50-1. The girls will be buzzing at training tonight.

Yeah quite close but Norwich is closer to me than Cambridge. I doubt you'll turn them over but they'll go into the game thinking they can turn you over, I'm sure you can turn that into your favour

It doesn't sit in the official pyramid, but several teams have opted to play in a more local league, as opposed to enter the county leagues. It has it pro's and con's, but last season there was less travelling, and hosted more teams than the Cambs Ladies league did which essentially is made up of teams from the south of the County. When we are older and good enough, we are more prepared to travel further in which to play games. [/url]

Extra Prelim fixtures have now been played, our game is fast approaching!!! The biggest defeat so far is 15-0 so that's one to avoid!!!

In the end we lost 11-0. We started well and after 20 minutes we were on top. Several shots on goal and our keeper was untroubled. Cambridge Utd soon scored after that with what was in my opinion a jammy goal. However, they did settle and built up a 3-0 lead adding a fourth just before the half time whistle. At the break we still felt confident but the sucker punch came with the fifth a minute after the restart. Cambridge Utd then added goals on a regular basis as we began to give up and allow them too much space.

Fair play to Cambridge, they defended well early on, and as the game went on they were very composed and were the fitter team. We didn't play to our potential, and afew niggling injuries didn't help our cause. However, it was still a worthwhile experience and something I recommend we try again next year. Now it's back to the league and the need for players to become totally injury free so they can perform to the best of their abilities is clear.

I am taking a step back from managing the team now after doing a 3 year stint. I've managed to find funding so that 15 females in the area can do a Level 1 coaching course and hopefully the future for the team comes from this. Fingers crossed they go onto a higher level. I'll still be a supporter and help where I can, but as manager I feel I've taken them as far as I can go, and I am knackered!!!
