Leeds United striker Richard Cresswell is set to join Stoke City after his move to Hull City collapsed.

Cresswell had agreed personal terms with Hull, only for the transfer to fall through due to concerns regarding his medical.

The Tigers' Championship rivals Stoke have been quick to take advantage of the situation by agreeing a deal for the former Preston forward.

Several other clubs were keen on Cresswell and Potters boss Tony Pulis is delighted to be bringing the 29-year-old to The Britannia Stadium.

Should be a decent enough signing for the Potters. He seemed to arrive at Elland Road when Leeds had too many strikers as it was so he didn't seem to play a great deal with Healy, Blake etc.

Cressy was a class player at North End a hard worker who chases the ball all game if he plays with a decent striker he can get you 10-15 goals a season.

But he is playing with Ricardo Fuller who was at North End same time as Cressy and Cressy only managed 1 goal in a season when Fuller was fit.

I think that this is a great signing for us...

It leaves us with Cresswell, Ricardo Fuller, Mama Sidibe and Jon Parkin as first choice strikers, which is as strong as we have been in that department for as long as I can remember. Each of them has something different to offer the team.

Yesterday at Cardiff, Cresswell played on the right wing, with Fuller and Sidibe up front, but I think that has more to do with our shortage of midfielders at the moment than anything else.

When he signed, Fuller praised the signing saying that Cresswell was the best striker that he has played alongside because he created so many chances for him, and Cresswell also said that he is looking forward to playing with Fuller again.

Cresswell needs to break into the side first though as I can't see him starting in midfield long term, and judging by the way that Fuller and Sidibe played against Cardiff yesterday, causing there defenders all sorts of problems, he's got one hell of a job on his hands!
