so in the end a fairly comfortable win for us , didnt play well in the first half and too many tackles spoiled the game really ....both sides gaining yellow cards for some wild lunges and late challenges .

I didnt think Sparta did much to threaten us apart from a couple of chances and we finally came good with Fabregas cooly planting the ball home after a great run and pass by Clichy . And at the end a great peice of thinking by Lehman who lobbed the ball to Sagna and the resulting pass to Hlebb enabled him to scuff the ball past the keeper and into the net ...and it was virtually the last kick of the game too as about 15 secs after the restart the ref blew the whistle ...

Comfortably done.

We took some kickings and gave even more back in the tough away game, getting a smart 0-2 win.

And to round it off, we stick 3 past them at the Emirates whilst never even leaving 1st gear.

I'm chuffed to see the Midfielders scoring consistently already and Eduardo grabbing his first competitive goal in his first Euro game.
