Cardiff to sign Ex Prem ace? |
|
CCFC are allegedly undertaking the medical of prolific former Leeds and Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Hasselbaink 35, was previously lined up for a switch to Championship side Leciester but it was called off for no apparent reason. Jimmy also had a successful spell at Middlesborough before a relegation with Charlton. He will now link up with former England Legends Robbie Fowler 32, and Trevor Sinclair 34. |

Poor signing in my opinion...
Was poor for Charlton last season, is 35 now, and is almost certain to be picking up high wages, I really can't see him doing much for them at all. |

I think he will be a good signing. I think Jimmy will be more of a success than Fowler. Not sure about Fowler yet.

He'll turn out to be a brilliant signing,Cardiff certainly have experience now don't they lol

I don't think any of these washed up old strikers will perform wolnders in a very physically demanding league. Not Fowler, not Sheringham and not Hasselbaink.

I think that Fowler could do ok, if he can stay fit, he's a natural finisher, and if Cardiff can create chances for him, which I think they will, he'll score them goals.
I can't understand why they have signed Hasselbaink as well though, judging by his performances for Charlton last season, even though it was a struggling team, for me he is clearly no where near the player that he was. The difference between the two is that Fowler has always relied on his natural finishing ability, he will never lose that, I think fitness maybe his problem has he gets older but I think he could do a good job in the Championship for a season or two. While I wouldn't describe Hasselbaink as a natural finisher, he's always tended to rely on his power and pace, which is something players lose as they get older, and at 35, I really can't see him being too successful against some strong defences in what is a very physical league. |

I thought Cardiff were also supposed to be in consideravle financial trouble? I dare say that ol' Jimmy has been given a hefty wage at Ninian Park.

No doubt that he is on quite a big wage, those reports about their finances though, are apparently false. |

Just topping up his retirement fund for me dont get me wrong i think he could do and ok you will just have to see how is attitude is because that sometimes can be brought in for question.

they need to mix the older strikers with the youngster to get a formidable mixture going on,remember they have picked up MacClean and Thompson is still there!!
