Yesterday at Walsalls training ground, Anton Reid who was just sixteen and had just gained a YTS sadly collapsed and passed away.
Its a real shame , He had a bright future and his whole life ahead of him.
Walsall have cancelled their reserve fixture against wolves tonight and flags around the ground are flying at half mast.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.

Jesus I saw this flash up on Sky Sports last night - what a tragedy.
Its frightening to see how many fit athletes seem to die from this sudden death syndrome, even more so when so young.

RIP Anton Reid.

i see that in the paper. terrible thing to happen to a seemingly fit kid.

happened to a mates brother. 18 years old and collapsed for no apparent reason. thankfully he didnt die but was in a bad way for weeks. found out he had some hereditary lung problem and it just packed in.

RIP

Sometimes it worries me when we play Sunday league - we're all [beep!] and kebabed up from the night before, yet run like fcukers in the morning. The amount of strain that puts on the old ticker can't be good. I never run flat out when playing football, always try to pace myself.
