The Facts

I would just like to put everyone in the picture with regards to Lee Hughes.

He has just been released from prison having served just 3 years. Not 6 years as previous posters have stated.

3 years ago he was driving home from a party where he had consumed alcohol (making him over the legal limit) and had snorted cocaine.

He was speeding when he hit another vehicle. He got out of his vehicle with out a scratch but the car he had hit had 3 critically injured people in it. Rather than call for assistance or help the injured, he RAN away from the vehicle, leaving the injured to die in horrific pain.
1 person died from their injuries on arrival to the hospital. A second person died in hospital some 10 months after the accident and the 3rd is crippled for life having to use crutches and a wheel chair for the rest of his life and has yet to receive ANY compensation. He went to the police 3 days after ther accident, only after all the toxics had been released from his body.Even then he tried to have his friends say that it wasn't him.

A drunk driver and even a drug user I can forgive. A man leaving 3 people trapped in a car to die with out even calling the emergency services. Well, you decide.

If he had done the crime but had helped these people i'm not sure I would be writting this BUT he didn't. To my mind he is the lowest form of life on earth and should be treated as such.

PLEASE all Oldham fans DO NOT allow this man any peace. I congratulate the few who have refused to buy season tickets to assist this man's salary.

It is absolutely disgraceful that this guy is being allowed to live the luxury life of a footballer once again, never mind actually being free. He should still be locked up after what he did.

If I was an Oldham fan I would be very ashamed to have someone like that representing my club, he doesn't deserve it at all. It shouldn't be allowed to happen.

I hope he gets all he deserves from away fans, and hopefully home fans too.

one thing for sure he ain't leaving players for dead on the pitch. I agree his sentence should have been greater but this sort of injustice happens all the time and its the justice system at fault. You could argue he has served his time and should be allowed to get on with his life. (I would find it hard to argue that) Now if he had been fiddling his taxes he would still be locked up Evil or Very Mad
