Is there any club that is in the competition that can realistically challenge Bayern for the UEFA Cup next season?

IMO no. Spurs need a couple of top quality central midfielders before they can challenge them and i cant think of too many other teams that could beat bayern with the team they will have next season.

They have signed some top quality players such as luca toni, Ribery and Klose. I honestly cant see any other team challenging them for the uefa cup.

Theyve already done the double. I reckon they'll win bundesliga as well with the squad they have.

well if a good team goes out in the Champions League group stages, then they could possibly challenge bayern.

if sevilla (the uefa cup champions) don't make it through to the knock out stages of the CL, then they would have a good chance of winning the UEFA cup again. what a match that would be!

Nobody said they don't already have a UEFA Cup title.

I have to agree with those who said that they have the best team in the competition so far. Once we know who will be joining them from the CL we can come to some conclusions. One of the big clubs could underperform and find themselves in the UEFA Cup, or maybe teams like Sevilla, Valencia and Arsenal.

But, yes, Bayern definitely have a very good chance. I might put a few quid on them a soon as the bookies come up with odds.

Bayern barely passed the first round of the DFB cup in penalties with tons of luck. They'll win the Bundesliga for sure but cups are a different story.

this is very powerful team, but you see: they didn't join Champions Laegue this year, they almost failed the pre-season preparation (remember, for example, that games against Mallorca and that small club from lower division). It's a question of time and their form and readiness at that moment.
There are many nice teams in this tournament, but it's very difficult to say who will be the winner. LEt's wait for the group stage and then for the addiition from the Champions League. Then we'll be able to talk about more definitely.

You're forgetting also, that many big clubs don't take the UEFA Cup all too seriously.

In theory, with all the teams falling out of the Champions League you should have an excellent last few rounds, but that rarely is the case.

A lot of the time teams go out far earlier than their ability should suggest. And maybe this could be Bayern, a team who struggled in the Bundesliga last year and could want to focus on that rather than a cup that isn't really anywhere in comparison to the Champions League.

No chance Ben. Bayern are gonna go all out for this.

They've already got the Bundesliga in the bag (that happened the moment Hitzfeld returned, and got the chance to buy new players), and they want to get some silverware in Europe.

Bayern have been brushing aside everyone that play in Germany. They are COMPLETELY dominating.

What's your basis for that? Don't get me wrong, they could do, but i always tend to wait and see with big clubs in the UEFA Cup. A lot of the team they don't put in as much effort - or simply can't get a team of Champions League players motivated for the inferior product. I guess we'll have to wait and see..

Actually, that's not entirely true. They clearly have the best team in Germany and they have an impressive goal difference so far, but they did draw twice in a row before scoring 9 goals against Karlsruhe and Cotbbus. And a draw away against Bayer Leverkusen is not an unlikely result this weekend.

So, they are definitely a great team, but i think 1-2 of the teams that are thrown out of the CL might be able to take them on.

I think that there are more teams from the Champions that can beat Bayern Wink Barça are playing well at home but till now away not very well.

I thought that you wished that Barça didn't qualify, sorry.

Did anyone see Toni's goal against Belenenses? That's some world class finishing.

Have Bayern already won the Uefa Cup?
