hiya!! just got back about 10pm! got lost on the way, but managed to get there in the nick of time!! i had all the welsh girls with me, accompianied by a welsh flag in honour of jayne ludlow! the match started and we were all shouting 'come on jayne, do it for wales' etc etc and she laughed (hopefully appreciating it!) the first half was cracking, loved it! 6 goals before half time, we were hoping it'd go into double figures but no such joy im afraid! oh and at half time i went to the toilet and a random person came up and said hi and said she'd seen me on this forum!!!! fame at last!! anyway, the second half was somewhat boring, birmingham seemed to improve their game, and fair play to them, never gave up. altho Arsenal did seem to step off the pedal. faye, ludlow, anita, lianne, yanks, ciara and kempy had really good games. im afraid to say that kelly didn't have the best game by her standards and went off mid-way through the second half (i think she was a bit injured tho, seemed to be holding ice to her leg) and then we went for a pub dinner cos none of us had eaten all day due to the lateness of our arrival! then we got in the mini bus and headed back to sunny swansea with all the other girls singing pro-welsh/anti-english songs (i was the only english girl!!!) they all had a fab time on their first trip to see womens footy and wanna come back for more!! |

on a hilarious note, 2 of the footy boys came with us cos one of them was driving the minibus. and they were sat by the tea and coffee in the bar after.... when someone came over.... jono was like 'd'ya want tea? no? coffee? no? hot chocolate? no?" and then said "you really need to take in fluids after a match you know....."
.......not realising it was the england captain he was talking to!! can't believe he was trying to give faye advice on fluid intake!!! haha he felt like a right nob when i told him who she was |

Thanx for the report Katie, I am sure it was a helluva good game,
I wish I was there, but couldn't make it this time. Don't worry about Kelly, maybe she had something on her mind that we don't know of, and that made her spread the bad vibrations Sounds like your mate was hitting on Faye Any luck? |

wahoo! bring on the next match!!
you'll just hear me shoutin "come on jayne, do it for wales!" jayne was really nice yesterday, after the match i told her how i'd brought my footy team from swansea and i introduced one of my players with her. she was quite happy to pose for a photo with jess and then jess was like "whereabouts in wales you from?" and jayne said she was from the rhondda and jess was getting all excited and saying "oh that's near me that is, i live in ______" it was well funny!! |

From BBC site: Sunday, 20 November 2005, 18:30 GMT Williams helps Everton into semis England midfielder Fara Williams scored two goals as Everton came from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1 in their Nationwide Women's Cup quarter-final. They are now set to meet Arsenal in the last four on 11 December. Doncaster Rovers Belles clash with Charlton Athletic in the other semi-final next month. "We're capable of doing it again. It's going to be a tough, but we'll go into the game with every confidence," said Everton manager Mo Marley. The semi-finals line-up has given Everton a potential chance to avenge last season's FA Cup final defeat by Charlton Athletic. But Marley added: "As long as we get to the final I don't care who we play against." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Of course - cos if you are in the fnal, it means Arsenal is out and there's nothing left to be affraid of |

Ladies face crunch two weeks
Arsenal ladies will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to this season's league campaign over the next two weeks when they take on Doncaster Rover Belles and Chelsea Ladies at Borehamwood FC. On Sunday, 27 November, Arsenal take on Doncaster, who are a place and a point above Vic Akers' side in third place in the table, but have played three games more. The Gunners then face second-from-bottom Chelsea on Sunday, 4 December. Arsenal have already played at Chelsea in the League, winning 2-0, but they expect a tough encounter with their west London neighbours who will be out to make amends for their defeat. Arsenal are currently fourth in the league, Everton lie second and Charlton lead the way at the top of the table. However Arsenal have 2 games in hand over the leaders and the Toffees, so two wins could prove vital if Arsenal are to remain hot on the heels of the league leaders and climb to second. Admission for both games is only £2 for Adults and £1 for concessions, including a free programme, with Kick-off at 2pm. For more information please visit www.Arsenal.com (Ladies section) |
