I know that we all watched on different tv stations, in different languages etc.

But I enjoyed these two, both from Lucy Ward (sorry - I'm not picking on you Lucy).

1. "She's good at doing headers with her head" (might have that a little wrong - it was an early game, so I can't remember.

2. A Germany game,regarding Fatrime Bajramaj.
Said she didn't have a German sounding name as she moved from Kosovo when she was 5. Then added: "She doesn't look German". Laughing

Any other ones heard?

Rolling Eyes the ZDF (thats like german BBC) commentator is just plain incompetent.

Confused he said during the US:Brasil game that both of the brazillian defenders just got their second yellow card and won`t play in the final. Which of was course untrue.

Confused the problem is that many journalists caught that comment and you could read in almost every newspaper that the brazillian defence won`t play in the final.

the german eurosport commentator is pretty good. Shame that eurosport lacks audio and video quality.

Laughing I wonder what he would have said if Shelley Thompson had made it to the german squad

LOL Laughing

Can't really remember any, but some commentators
pronounced the players'/coaches' names in a funny way, for example:

Heather O'Reilly = [Heather O'Really]
Hope Powell = [Happy Powell] Laughing
Melissa Wiik = [Melissa Weak]
Kelly Smith = [Kelly Smees] - as usual Wink
And one of them pronounced Faye White's first name [Fah-yeah] Rolling Eyes

Oh and one of them said before the England vs USA game,
when the camera showed Hope Powell:
"And here's England coach - Hope Solo" Laughing

And I won't mention how many times was Ragnhild Gulbrandsen called Solveig
just because they have the same surname Rolling Eyes

You would think they've just learnt the players' names before the tournament, but no
- they are the same commentators every WC, EC & Algarve Cup on our Eurosport Neutral

hahaha Lucy Ward and Guy Mowbray were funny as! It was mainly Lucy though Laughing

1) Ger v Eng she said she was in the gym in the morning and there was a German woman on the next treadmill and she made sure she went faster and was on longer Laughing

2) The way she kept going on about the Germans not smiling around the hotel!

Argh! I can't think of any other things but she was funny when talking about teams Wink

After a player makes a great effort and gets in a good cross:

"He had no right to get that cross in."

I love that one.

He had no right? Of course he had a right. Imagine a male commentator saying that in a Women's game - "She had no right to get that cross in." Then the typical "why, because she's a Woman?" Sacked! Very Happy

USA/ESPN: I forgot what match it was, but when the coach panned on the German head coach, Sylvia Neid, for a few seconds, former U.S. WNT coach, Tony DiCicco said "She's stylin'." or "She be stylin." The other commentator, JP Delacamera, had no comment :p
