Shocked what an absolutely shocking and disgraceful display of football by the reds last night. As good a manager as rafa is, he needs to swallow his pride with his rotation policy. Ok change 1 or 2 for a match but not 5. the only way players are going to gel at present is by sharing hair products. Rafa has been given the money and got the players he wants but to be honest the performances in the last few weeks have been no different to last season.

So what will the excuse be now? Last season it was because he doesnt get the same cash to spend as Utd and Chelsea

A month ago he walked on water cos you had beaten Derby by 6 and won the league, we were all dismissed as idiots when we suggested there was a long way to go in the season and you were all getting the victory bus painted up again, now its Rafa out and Gerrards a mule Laughing

To be honest Manc Devil, you've outspent us for seasons and still spent more this time around as well. The excuse is still slightly relevant (not that we'll be using it ( and don't say i'm using it now, i ain't)), especially to Chelsea who've spent enormous amounts in comparison.

Out spent you? We have sold 25m worth of players also, so that adds to the transfer spending kitty, if Rafa sold some of the crap he has bought then he would get a boost, unfortunately his failures usually leave on free transfers as nobody is willing to pay anything for them.

Its been posted on this forum before that Liverpool have only spent a few million less than Utd over the past few years but we have also sold more players, if you take away the cash we raised from sales then whats left is far less than what Liverpool have spent

For your information matey, the sales of Bellamy, Pongolle, Cisse and Garcia generated over £20million income. But since when have you needed facts to spout your drivel?

As it happens, i did calculate the net spending for each side. As i have it (and it will be subject to change, as a lot of fee's are rumoured) Liverpool's net spending was £25.25million whilst United's was £25.5million. United spent about £5mil more but sold that much more too. The point remains, we haven't caught up on you spending shitloads on overrated players.

Aidan the rotation policy is there because it works most the time, of course it isn't always successful but players need rest sometimes. If Liverpool were top of the league you would be telling everyone how great it is, can you imagine playing 50-60 games straight a season? You would be burnt out before the halfway point in the season and players would be p1ssed off because they aren't getting games. Rotation makes it possible for younger players and reserves to get match experience and time on the field at top level while key players get rested for big games. Might wanna do some more wikipedia research mate...

I don't think so. Nobodies said Rafa should actually go, it's more a "we hate Rafa 'cause we're fickle football fans" thread.

You have passed us mate, you spend a fortune on crap. The best signing you made this year is Voronin and he cost nothing. You paid double what Torres is actually worth

We've not passed you at all.

Liverpool:

In.
- Fernando Torresfor £20.2million.
- Ryan Babel for £11.5million.
- Lucas Leiva for £6.8million.
- Yossi Benayoun for £4million.
- Sebastián Leto for £1.85million.
- Emiliano Insúa for £1.1million.

Out.
- Craig Bellamy for £7.5million.
- Djibril Cissé for £6million.
- Luis García for £4million.
- Florent Sinama-Pongolle for £2.7million.

United:

In.
- Owen Hargreaves for £17million.
- Anderson for £17million.
- Nani for £14million.
- Tomasz Kuszczak for £3million.

Out.
- Gabriel Heinze for £8million.
- Alan Smith for £6million.
- Giuseppe Rossi for £6million.
- Kieran Richardson for £5.5million.

You can do the math.

Please though, when you say we spend a fortune on crap, and you've made those three signings (Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves) accompanied with Carrick last year, your entire argument falls to shreds. Not that you have an argument, 'cause all your doing is trying to wind me up. But we all knew that anyway..

PS. I'm not saying Nani or anyone is crap, but rather the money they've spent is outrageous especially for some players so young. When we've barely spent over £10million for a player in the past (only Heskey, Ciise and Alonso spring to mind), you can see that.

Oh i love you Manc Devil! You make replying to sooooooooooo easy.

When you base your argument on the theory that "i can see into the future", do i really need a come-back?

Yes you won the league last season. But three of the four players i mentioned weren't there then. And Carrick wasn't the reason you won the league, the reason you won the league was the lack of change in personnel.

Good grief, we spent £20million on Torres. I hate to think what would have happened if we'd of spent £18million on Carrick. And let's face it, if Torres had signed for United (like a lot of Mancs wanted him to) he'd of been the best player in the world after a week.

No need to be like that now. It's obvious to most people with brains that I mean "so far" as in "up to now" know what I mean? Rolling Eyes

Well yeh, sorry. Even so, it's a little harsh - he's still scored 7 goals in 9 starts (i'm not 100% sure how many appearances, possibly 11).

I have noticed that when he plays and doesnt score he is 'the 20m man' when he plays and scores then he is the '26m man'
