Celtic have gone top of the Scottish Premier League after netting two late goals against Gretna, while Aberdeen recorded a 4-0 win at home to St Mirren.

Gretna looked likely to take victory at Fir Park, in the first meeting between the sides but Celtic snatched two late goals to take all three points.

Fabian Yantorno had opened the scoring for Gretna after 37 minutes with a well placed free-kick.

Celtic piled on the pressure late into the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser from Chris Killen on 86 minutes.

Gretna struggled to hold onto the draw and Celtic's midweek hero Scott McDonald grabbed a winner during injury time.

The result sees Celtic move to the top of the table while Gretna remain at the bottom with just one win all season.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen earned their fourth victory of the season with a 4-0 home win against St Mirren.

Scott Severin and Lee Miller netted two goals each in the victory which sees Aberdeen close the gap with Kilmarnock.

Severin's first goal came courtesy of a penalty which he converted to take the lead for the Dons on the verge of half-time.

Miller then added the second on 63 minutes before Severin stepped up to net another penalty eight minutes later.

Miller finished off the scoring just before the final whistle, leaving struggling St Mirren just one place off the bottom.

Gretna where about 3minutes away from becoming European Champions. Harsh. Celtic were very lucky. Worst I have seen them play in a long time. Went from their best performance to the worst performance of the season in the space of a few days

It was bad luck on "plucky" little Gretna, I really thought they were going to hold out for a major shock.
But hats off to Celtic, they did what Champions do - never gave in and fought right to the very end.

Hibernian are surprising, they have won against Rangers. May be it's because they are tired after their match in Lyon. Very Happy

Yes but it's a long time that the 2 clubs of Glasgow were dominated the Scottish League. Wink
