I'd like to take this oppertunity to wish the Scotland national team all the luck in the world with their final games of their group. They have been awe-inspiring thus far and I sincerely hope that they can qualify against all odds.

Ádh mór ort agus go n-éirí an bóthar leat.

Good luck from Ireland Very Happy

7 wins and 2 losses. 2 wins against France and a win against Italy (if i recall correctly). How do they not deserve to go through?

As they stand:

Scotland - 21pts 10goal diff.
Italy - 20pts 8goal diff.
France - 19pts 12goal diff.

Their next games are:

Ukraine (H)
Georgia (A)
Italy (H)

Italy's next games are:

Georgia (H)
Scotland (A)
Faroe Islands (H)

France's next games are:

Faroe Islands (A)
Lithuania (H)
Ukraine (A)

It won't be easy. On that, i'd say France had the easiest fixtures whilst Scotland the hardest. Getting four points from Ukraine and Georgia must be paramount - 6 would obviously be ideal, so not to rely totally on the match with Italy, but you have to be realistic.

As it has shaped up, i think France will progress owing to the other two playing eachother. Then it could end up whoever wins that game makes it through.

I really hope Scotland can qualify - it'd make for an interesting tornament, especially if they can keep this incredible form up and go on a run. And even if they don't, they'll have done their country proud on minimal resources, as well as severely upped their ranking for the World Cup.

France will sneak through I reckon, and I'll be secretly cheering them on.

It's between Scotland and Italy. It'll probably come down to the last game, in Italy. Confused

The strange thing is though, Scotland's last game - against Italy - won't be the Italian's last game.

If Scotland don't get full marks from the three games, it could be out of their hands when Italy travel to Ukraine.

The key for me is for them not to lose against Italy. If they can draw i think they should be in a good position (or through, as it would be after their initial two matches).

Laughing Come now, Sparky! I'll probably watch the game, I'm not really fussed about the result either way... I'd just be checking up on Rio and Rooney.

Would laugh if they scored mind Razz

Was reading in the paper yesterday that Rooeny hasn't scored for England since his Everton days. Shocking

Brilliant performance for the Scots, McFadden looks like a man possessed when he pulls that Scotland shirt on.

I love the passion and determination which oozes from the Scottish national side.

If they don't qualify now the suicide rate will double Laughing

Fantastic result for Scotland. Victory over Georgia will mean they just (just .. ahem) need a point at home to Italy.
