Anyway, Scotland are not looking the best today...

They look slightly lacklustre if I'm honest. I don't think they should have rushed Fletcher back and Pearson simply isn't good enough.

Come on the Scots!

Had no choice. Brown and McCulloch picked up injuries. Don't think he would have played at all if they were fit

2-0 Georgia.

They are looking very comfortable and have looked very composed and dangerous. Great achievement considering that it is mainly their younger players on the Pitch.

The question is, can France take advanage of this result and beat Lithuania tonight?

It's still in Scotland's hands though - victory at home to Italy will mean they qualify. It won't be easy, but it's still possible..

I have to say that was a very encouraging, comfortable performance from that young Georgian team tonight. They had several first team members missing, more so than the Scots, and went forward with real pace and ability on the ball. Two well taken goals as well to polish off a composed performance. The Scottish dominated the ball for periods but never looked like doing much with it although at times Maloney, McFadden and Miller moved the ball around well with no end product. They were pretty solid at the back on occasion but just couldn't break down the packed Georgian defence.

A deflated performance and result certainly for the Scots.

Unlucky for the Scots, hope they qualify in the end though, so at least one part of the UK will be at the euros Wink

A draw with Italy could be enough too who still have to go away to Ukraine

I believe (i may be wrong) that it's France he play Ukraine, not Italy. And the Italians have the Faroe Islands.

Your point is fair enough though, if France lose to the Ukraine and Scotland take a point - assuming France win their other game versus Lithuania - the two countries will be tied on 25 points. The Scots having beaten France home and away would go through on head-to-head.

Seems Henry made sure they did just that. 2 goals tonight and it seems that France should now be able to qualify.

No, England are fooked. Scotland have every chance! At Hampdon they will prove a sturn test for Italy. My worry is that the Italians will be very solid and defensive and settle for that crucial point - accompanied with the knock in confidence the Scots must have incurred, it will not be easy. But at least it is in your hands. Who was it that said if Scotland fail to qualify they will have only themselves to blame? 'Cause they couldn't be more true.

Are you sure about that? Isnt it decided by goal difference? If so Scotland are in deep sh!t with +10 while the French have +20.

Edit:
Quote:

Equality of points after the group matches
If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings.
a) Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question.
b) Superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question.
c) Higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question.
d) Higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question.
e) If, after applying criteria a) to d) to several teams, two or more teams still have an equal ranking, the criteria a) to d) will be reapplied to determine the ranking of these teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) and g) will apply.
f) Results of all group matches: 1. Superior goal difference 2. Higher number of goals scored 3. Higher number of goals scored away from home 4. Fair play conduct.
g) Drawing of lots.

It seems you are right Ben. In case there are equal point Scotland will go through over France.

If it all goes pear-shaped and none of the Home Nations qualify, along with the Republic, I wonder when was the last time that happened for a major tournament?
