How sh*t will it be without England, Scotland or Ireland

If it all goes pear-shaped and none of the Home Nations qualify, along with the Republic, I wonder when was the last time that happened for a major tournament?

Sorry if I missed anyone, this is what my poor memory can recall - can anyone remember further back?...

Germany 06 - England
Portugal 04 - England
Japan 02 - England, Ireland
Holland 00 - England
France 98 - England
England 96 - England, Scotland
USA 94 - Ireland
Sweden 92 - England
Italia 90 - England, Ireland
Germany 88 - England, Ireland
Mexico 86 - England, Scotland
France 84 -
Spain 82 - England, N. Ireland

So "I think" Euro 84 may have been the last time none of the home nations or Ireland qualified...

Well if you're discounting Republic of Ireland (which you technically should) it's 94.

And Eurxe, you know, i think most things in football actually go by head-to-heads now-a-days, with the Premier League being an exception.. I could be wrong though, i'm not 100% about other league's.

This is definetely the best game for Italy. Scotland must win, a draw could not be enough and if they attack all the time Italy can take advantage of it.

No I wasn't discounting the Republic - I stated the Home Nations AND The Republic - I'm not going to get into a UK-Ireland debate again here, but many of their players play in the British Leagues, and the country is geographically located off mainland Europe in the same patch of water.

Yeah sorry i know you were including them. I was saying, "if you're" as in, people in general, and making the point that Ireland isn't technically a home nation, so it should be 94.

But i guess that's not the point at all so i'll shut up and let someone who knows your question answer.
