Sooo.... how does the draw work? What do the pots mean?, one team from each one in the goup? Are the teams seeded at all?

Teams of the same pot can't be in the same group for Euro 2008

So every group will have a team from each pot.

The system of selecting the pots is based on actual result in qualifications, and i think even on the last results in euro 2004.

How do you figure that? Wouldnt you want really good teams in your pot so you cant be drawn against them? They have Austria, Switzerland and Greece.... defending champs but not realy European powerhouses like Italy, Germany, France etc.

Oh and if you were making a muarijuana joke then scrap that and haha

Yeah it was a joke and also about the football too.

Austria looks a no-brainer. Switzerland will perform well on home soil with the crowd behind them, possibly even Austria, but wouldnt expect Austria to do much. More for Switzerland.

Greece: Yeah, I know, Greece who indeed. capable of some shocks or two. Sure many will be weary of them again.

Now Croatia seem to have done ok. They will avoid the Czechs, Germans and Italians.

It's unlucky for Greece to be in pot 1 because two of the weakest teams (Austria and Switzerland are in there).

Ideally, i would like this draw for us:

Greece
Czech R
Sweden
Poland

or maybe substitute one of those for a more traditional team, like France, cause sometimes that helps.

We had Portugal and Spain in our Euro 2004 group and it did us no harm.

These surely can't be true. You could end up with a group of Italy, Portugal, France and Netherlands while another has Austria, Croatia, Romania and Poland. That ain't gonna happen - even UEFA can't be that stupid.

How can you even do the pots before everyones qualified?

In 2004 France have stopped in quarter final so i think that's the reason why we were in a difficult qualification group.

If you're on about the qualifiers just gone, then actually it was Italy who suffered from their poor Euro 04 tournament. They were in pot 2 for the draw after not making the knockout phase if i recall correctly.. France were in pot 1.

I try to understand why there was France, Italy and Ukraine in the same group.

After Scotland showed they were good too, but before it started we couldn't think that they were good.
