Football.co.uk Forum Rules

Threads/Posts must be civil and tasteful.
Threads/posts considered to be offensive to other members, or considered as bad taste may be edited/deleted by one of the forum moderators. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters

Abusive Comments
Football.co.uk will not tolerate insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts towards any other member of the forum. If a member does abuse another member then they will be issued a warning, along with details of why they have been warned. If a member repeats the offence, this will result in a permanent ban.

If however you feel that you have been unfairly treated, then contact a member of the Admin team, who will re-view the situation.

Post Quality
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such. Also text-talk is not permitted on the forum. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

Swearing
Although a lot of people are extremely broad-minded and will not be bothered by the use of any known swear word, there are those amongst us who find swearing unacceptable. We have a swear filter to automatically censor most common swear words, but, as it is possible to circumvent this by using similar characters, we sometimes have to ManUally censor some words. Obviously, some words are worse than others, but generally speaking, if a word is in the swear filter, it is deemed to be unacceptable for use on these forums.

Spam
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to Spam other members.

Discrimination
Discrimination is not tolerated on this forum. Discrimination can take the form of the use of specific words or phrases or can be in the form of a general attitude towards an individual or group of people. For example, making a statement that all black people are criminals is discrimination on the basis of race, is illegal and is unacceptable. Discrimination can be on the basis of race, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation or political persuasion.

Promotion of other sites.
Members are not permitted to promote another site on Football.co.uk, without the permission of a member of the Admin team. If a member is found to promote/Spam the site with another site then they will be warned/banned. All posts will be removed.

Age Range
Football.co.uk is a family forum, open to all ages; therefore posts need to be respectful. No images or URL of a pornographic nature are welcome and will be removed. Bad Language needs to be kept to a minimum. If a post is found to contain this, then moderators have the ability to edit/delete the post.

Usernames
If a member is found to have multiple accounts, then these accounts may be removed or suspended.

Warnings
Warnings will be issued if a member breaks these simple rules, or causes a disruption to the forum. Warnings can be issued for the following...

Text Talk
Short/Pointless Replies/Overuse of Smilies
Off-Topic Posting
Personal Insults
Strong Language
Racist Comments
Spamming

In serious cases, a warning will not be appropriate and the account will be suspended for a period of time.

Complaints
If a member has a complaint against another member/moderator/admin, or a post/thread, then contact a member of the admin team via e-mail or PM. Complaints made public on the forum will be removed. Failure to do so in the correct manner may result in you receiving a warning.

Banned Members
If a banned member wishes to return to Football.co.uk after being away for a long period of time, then they need to send an e-mail to shane@football.co.uk requesting permission to do so, otherwise as soon as that member has been noticed, the account will be suspended.

Football.co.uk will do its best to attempt to keep all messages on this forum respectful and within the forum rules. While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

The owners of Football.co.uk reserve the right to edit, delete, move or close any thread for any reason

Guys and Girls, here are the new forum rules, and it is vital that from today forward, you all try and abide by them as much as possible.

Those of you who know me, will know that I am a fair enough guy, and I will continue to work that way, however there needs to be rules clearly set out for you all to follow. The are above in black and white now, so there can be no confusion.

Everyone including myself, and my mod have to abide by these rules. For some people, they will need to change the way they post on the forum, for others, it will not affect them in any way apart from making the forum a more pleasant place to be.

Our focus going forward is to not only help attract new members, but to also look after the members we have here already.

If there are any questions, queries or concerns, by all means let me know.

I agree - the rules have to be across the board.

I don't see the need for that rule. I think it's pathetic in my opinion. Can you enlighten me on as to why you feel it necessary to enforce rules such as this?

If ever a rule resembled a monumental pile of... ManUre, it's that one.

Firstly, your avatar is going.
Secondly these are the rules - if you don't like them, then nobody is forcing you to stay, however if you purposely breach the rules, you will be forced to leave.

Note that slightly altered spellings of swear words are not permited and will be edited, as I have already just done in a post from someone who has definitely read this section.

Please don't spend your time testing the limits.

How pathetic. Are you saying i can't even star part of the word out?

Or what about if i change it to something like poo, or doggy doo? Would it be removed just because it isn't pleasant?

The avatar itself was unacceptable - simple as that.
As for things like sh*t, c*nt, w*nker - these are also unnacceptable. Anyone with an ounce of sense will be capable of getting their point across without the need to use such words. By placing the *'s, you are essencially getting around our Word Filters.

Obviously, some words are worse than others, but generally speaking, if a word is in the swear filter, it is deemed to be unacceptable for use on these forums.

Follow the rules Sticky, or leave.
If you wish to discuss it further with me, then you can either PM me or Email me.

I'm all for the new rules and being nice to one and other. It was getting a bit out of control.

How much will this really be enforced?
Insulting people is obviously bad, but then there's insulting people in a playfull way, which is a very *male* thing to do. Some might even call it bonding. Can't see a problem with that unless someone complans. If there is a complaint, the people on this forum are mature enough to take note.
Common sense being the word I'm thinking about.

I've already had words with Twm about the swearing. Isn't having a filter that blocks out the swear words enough? I will answer that question...YES it is enough. I will leave it at that as I don't want to get banned, and I will if I continue with this one rule alone.

Leave if I don't like it? I saved you the trouble of typing.

Not at all Ronaldinho - you have made some good points, and it is a case of us giving you guys clear guidelines and rules to follow - without them, the place will fall apart.

Insulting people in a playful way is fine, however what you need to remember is it isn't always the person you are insulting that actually gets insulted....it is someone else reading it.

We will try and filter as many words as possible, but there are ways around the word filter. What we are saying is that by placing *'s in your posts is just as bad as saying the word itself. For example, f*ck is the same as fuck. The word filter will not pick up the first, however will filter the second example...so this is why we don't want people using *'s. If your going swear, then write it in full so that our word filter will pick up on it and change it automatically. But I don't want to see posts full of [beeps] either.

And again, I am all for discussing the rules in this thread....but I will not discuss them with kids who are purely acting up for attention.

I am sure you know what I mean as you come across as an intelligent guy.

That is made loud and clear. Excellent.

You're better off explaining in this thread instead of PMing loads of people.

Anyway, i've already spoken to the cat about this.

Why can't we use words like focker, or fecker? They've been used in popular prime-time TV and film. One was even in the title of a film!

Oh and can you explain to me why you decided to enforce that bull illegal program rule?
