Are you happy with that?

It's not a bad result. Smile

You're supporting your French team then?

Rossiyanka 0-0 Frankfurt was other result.

And shlj - don't you mean we'll struggle on Wednesday?
Or do you know something I don't know? Confused

No, i don't support but it's not a bad result because it's a draw with no goals, so if the Ladies of Lyon scored one goal away, Arsenal Ladies have to score 2 goals. Wink

Yes - I just wondered if you were supporting your fellow countrywomen Wink

Personally, I hope Arsenal get a couple of early goals to soothe my nerves.

I think OL will have the same gameplan as in Lyon. Pressurise iup fornt to prevent Arsenal from doing their passing game. Especially as Borehamwood is a small pitch that favors defensive football.
What they did is simple : they had someone marking Katie as soon as she was receiving the bal and turning plus the wingers marking the full back in a 4-3-3 formation. it will be very strong density in midfield plus double match up on the wing.

I assume it's away goals counting double - but what if it's, say 1-1 after 90 minutes. Is that it, or will extra time be played?

1-1 2-2 3-3 Lyon would go through.

I'm glad I'm at home , at least me nerves won't be hanging by a thread Wink I have a good feeling that the girls will win so I'm not that worried the first leg ended in a draw.

But is that after 90 mins?

Or will they have extra time if it's 1-1 after 90 mins? Like in Carling Cup. Confused

no

Standard UEFA rules apply. Away goal counts double if it is equal on point after full time. The only way it could become extra time is the two games end exactly the same in goals (0-0 in this case).

Thank you Smile

There's nothing worse than being 1-1 after 90 minutes and expecting ane extra 30 minutes, then finding you're already out.

So I know what we need next Wednesday now Wink

This is a rule that only English people could have mustered! every format is the same around the world for extra time and away goal except for the carling cup?

I thought Arsenal had beaten Spurs in the Carling Cup semi final 2nd leg last year on away goals, then found they had to play an extra 30 minutes Sad

There will be a minimum of 4 or 5 Lyon supporters at the game and I've been told there might a world cup runner-up at the game as well.
