Inspired by that Greek Club poll (Olympiakos vs. Panathinaikos), I'm curious which of Brøndby IF and FC Copenhagen has got the best reputation in large as well as small football countries in the rest of the world... So please make your "vote".. Smile

I'd have to say Brondby, as I'm more familiar with some of their former players - such as the Laudrup brothers, Schmeichel & John "ginger affro" Jensen.

Brøndby conquered the Danish league in the 90's, and reached the UEFA Cup semi final in '90 and the quarter final in '97. In 1990 Roma knocked them out in the last minut of the second game, with a goal from Rudi Völler. In 1997 Brøndby were knocked out by Tenerife, after beating teams like Karslruher and Liverpool.

In 1998 Brøndby was in front of the Champions League group containing Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United, efter the first game where Bayern were beaten 2-1. That was the only points they got in that tournament though.

The club was founded in 1964, and have won 10 league titles since 1985. They were the first Danish club to become professionals..

FCK (København = Copenhagen) was founded in 1992 and they are the team to beat at the moment, winning five league titles since 2001..

I'd say Brondby cause i'm old enough to remember the 90s very well. But it's obvious Kopenhagen are better now.

I have explained the crest in this thread: http://forum.football.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=33978

Brøndby can be translated to Well-city... "Brønd" is Danish for "well"...

Brondby to me seem around alot longer and have a bigger reputation in my opinion. I was always a great admirer of Ebbe Sand and when you had players like Schmeichal & the Laudrups' in your team, you were doing something right. Copenhagen came about more recently. I think it's like saying who has a bigger reputation between Chelsea & Liverpool

Haha nice. "Mange tak", you mean. "Thanks alot", to the guys who didnt understand.

Where are you from? I see you live in Shanghai, but are you from Europe originally, since you know Brøndby?

Your username, "kommune" is a Danish word too, you know. It means "municipality" og kind of a "local government"... Laughing

Aaah cool. Smile It's a pitty Kahlenberg and Auxerre are placed so bad in the french league.. Im a fan of his too because he was so great in Brøndby, and I hope all the best for the former Brøndby players.. Maybe a move to another french club would help him..

So can you see any games of the Danish national team in China?

(and from where do you learn how to write Danish?)
