PSV win league on goal difference

PSV Eindhoven have been crowned as Dutch Champions 2007 courtesy of a better goal difference than second-placed Ajax Amsterdam.

Just one goal separated the two sides as PSV had + 50 and The Amsterdam giants are at +49 to put an end to one of the most exciting seasons ever in the Eredivisie.

It was a dramatic afternoon that started with PSV, Ajax and AZ Alkmaar locked together at 72 points but the latter were in pole position thanks to a better goal difference (+53).

AZ lost away to Excelsior 3-2 to get out of the race and blow up the chance of winning their second ever title and the first since 1981. PSV beat Vitesse Arnhem 5-1 and Ajax registered a 2-0 away win over Willem II but that wasn’t enough to win the crown.


What a finish to the season! PSV win by one goal difference point. Congratulations to them

Shocked what a season!

Shame for Ajax though, they've had a great second part of the season gaining lots of points to PSV..

I have a soft spot for Ajax an PSV, Eredivise is pretty good league have a strong feeling Arouna Kone will be playing in Premiership next season.

Not as much as being shot in the knee caps with a shotgun and fed to wolves....

i dunno...never happend to me. but it almost hurts as much like that i think.

Haha yea i do care a lot about ajax. (Have seasonticket for f-side...and also go to away matches. Also always helping with Ajax Tifosi.)

My life is just ajax Razz i know that sounds funny for a girl. cause "girls dont like football" Confused

U should..and then go to a match like ajax-feyenoord or ajax-psv.
What team u support?

Yesterday Psv lost at home with 2-4
Because ajax won today (3-2 away against willem2)..we are on the first place again.
Next week it is ajax-psv...so everybody fingers crossed.

I hope soon ajax will return in CL instead of PSV
