Usually not much happens , and Moyes and Kenwright tend to disappear immediately after the meeting , whereas Kendall used to stay for a chat in the bar afterwards . In the past I've even been able to quiz Peter Johnson and Lord Grantchester over a pint in the Alex Young Suite after the meeting .
However this AGM could be the most volatile since the days of Johnson ........ I suspect the move to Kirkby might get a mention |

Started at 7 .
Top table of Moyes ; Wyness ; Kenwright ;Woods ;Earl and a representative of the Accountants/Auditors . Before the meeting started took a few moments to remember , Alan Ball , Madeleine McCann , Rhys Jones and a number of other Evertonians . Then onto the business : 1)Accepted last year's minutes as read . 2) Chairman's statement . 3) Auditors statement . 4) Accepted the Financial Accounts . 5) Re-elected Earl and Woods onto the Board . Meeting closed at about 7:25 . Then , as always , Kenwright gave the Shareholders a chance to ask questions ........ cue an hour , hour and a half of fairly angry people opposed to the Kirkby move . Wyness admitted that Kirkby is Plan A and we have no Plan B,C or D . If Kirkby falls through then we're still at Goodison , and back to square 1 . I find this rather concerning . By all means have Kirkby as Plan A , but in case it fails , we need to be actively pursuing other avenues . A few people let themselves down by getting a bit too worked up and shouting "smart arse" comments at the top table . There was also a consultant there , called Chris , who is advising the Club on the feasibility of the new stadium . He's worked on Arsenal's and Man City's grounds ; and is also working on the Olympic stadium . He came in for a bit of a grilling ; especially for his dismissal of the Scottie Rd Loop site . Basically , we're putting all our eggs in the Kirkby basket because no-one has come up with a better solution . My wife wants the computer , I'll continue later . |

Right , where was I ?
Most voices seemed to disapprove of leaving the geographical boundaries of Liverpool . They believed that the Board hadn't and weren't pursuing other possibilities with sufficient vigour . One woman got up to complain that she was going to have her house repossessed by Tesco . Once everyone had had their say ; it seems to be that everyone would love to stay at Goodison , but the Board believe that Kirkby is the only realistic and affordable option . Moyes then got up to give his report , answered a handful of innocuous questions . And the evening was brought to a conclusion . Afterwads , I cornered Kenwright and asked him a couple of questions . Nothing earth shattering . Just whether the naming rights of the stadium were a given . He agreed with my suggestion that it would be lovely to call it the William Ralph Dean Stadium , but someone will give us £35 m for the name . Also , the "Dixie" Dean statue will stay where it is , and it was the Dean family who wanted it labelled "Dixie" . This has always concerned me , because he hated the nickname and prefered to be called Bil . |
