Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a sensational £15 million bid for Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor.

The Sunday Express says Ferguson has ordered regular reports on the 21-year-old Birmingham-born player, who is on the verge of a full England cap.

A regular in Stuart Pearce's England Under 21 side, Agbonlahor's pace and goals - he has six in the Premier League this season - have attracted the attention of the champions.

Villa are anxious to hold onto their prized asset who is also being closely watched by Arsenal.

Both United and the Gunners know that they will have to wait until the summer to make any move for the rising Villa star.

because he is english and potentially better than david villa. At Man Utd, they don't just sign foreigners.

Agbonlahor would be an excellent signing but do we really need him?

We have world class mid fielders all over the pitch and on the bench.

I would just stick with trying to bolster up our defence for the remaining season.

Where does he usually play for Villa? It's winger or wing-forward right?

lol Just bacause Wenger doesnt buy many English players doesnt mean the ones that are there wont get to play for England. Moving to Arsenal didnt do Walcott any harm in that respect lol

I've read the same exact rumor with Arsenal in place of Man U. Same price tag and everything. Laughing

Agbonlahor' a great, young player but honestly Man U dont need him. They've just bought Anderson and Nani who are still young and theres still talent on the bench for Man U. Even Carrick is getting benched every week and look how much they spent on him. He would be a good signing but Man U have too many players already.

Also, 15 million? Did I hear that wrong? Thats ridiculous.

I've watched a few Villa games this season and although I rate Agbonlahor I'm not a fan of his movement off the ball. He reminds me of a slightly good David Bellion and I just don't think he's anywhere near United or Arsenal quality.

Man Utd want Agbonlahor
