18th December. Tottenham win at 2.9 on Betfair. It matters more when there's money on it Wink

I think Ramos will bring out a close to full squad for this match.

Quote:
Ramos: I Want To Win The Carling Cup Juande Ramos has revealed that he wants to win the Carling Cup with Tottenham Hotspur this season as his side prefer for the quarter final trip to Manchester City on Tuesday.

The Spaniard is accustomed to lifting silverware having won five trophies in the last two years with Sevilla and he wants another one this term.

After securing their first away victory in the league of the current campaign by beating Portsmouth at the weekend, Ramos wants another one in the cup.

Manchester City have yet to lose at Eastlands under Sven Göran-Eriksson, but the Tottenham boss thinks that his side can break that run.

"City's home record is very impressive and it will be difficult to get any reward there, but if we play as well as we can, we can do it,” he said.

"It is a competition we are happy to be in and a competition we want to win.”

The League Cup was the last major honour to be lifted by Tottenham when they beat Leciester City in the final in 1999 thanks to a last gasp goal from Allan Nielsen.

So Ramos is like Rafa - likes little cups Laughing

As Smurf says - it'll be good for Arsenal if it goes into extra time Wink

Yawn.
It was a cup you used to strive to win once upon a time.

I hope extra-time can be avoided for obvious reasons. It could be a very very tough game - we will have to pull out all of the stops to get a result in our favour.

Anyone remember the Cup game v City a few years back, when we were 3-0 up...against ten men?
I never take anything for granted since then!

No worries matey. Smile

The red card was a strange decision to be honest. Zokora went in with both feet but didn't catch the player at all. A yellow card for a sloppy attempt to win the ball would've been fair. The bad part about all this is that Zoks will miss the Arsenal game through suspension which almost eclipses any chance we did have of getting anything from the game. The rest of the players will also be much more fatigued.

Ah well, it'll be interesting to see if we can battle it out and keep City at bay for the remaining hour. Smile I have faith.

Isnt there some rule about a ban starting 7 days after a red card to allow appeals? Might be in fo Scum game then take the three game ban, just as we are getting Keane back from a equally horrible tackle.

So 0-1 at halftime but we are down to ten men having lost Zokora who was playing centerback, only one centerback now with Chimbonda tucked in and Tainio on for Defoe to play RB if im seeing it correctly.

We owe Man City a ten man beating so lets hope we can hold on to this one, dont like our chances with this referee tho, very odd display.

I'm in heaven mate - this is unbelievable! It's not over yet but if we hang on to this then it'll be an amazing win. Robbo and Berbs have been immense and Steed took the goal very well. Lovely jubbley.

We're showing exactly the kind of resilience that we needed earlier in the season. Let's just hope we can see it through.

Great performance from th lads, to lose our makeshift centerback after 19 mins then to hold on for all that time and knock them off on the break late on to make it two, magic.

Great games from Lennon, Berbs, Kaboul, Robbo, everyone did great IMO. Solid defending at theback with Tainio Chimmy Kaboul Lee , all top draw.

Referee should still get his payout from City, he did his best not his fault they couldnt take advantage of it.

Another good cameo from Ohara, kid looks good.

Semifinals here we come Very Happy

Oh and Ramos OWNS Sven.

Great result under the circumstances. It was really nice to see everyone pull together and put absolutely everything into holding onto our lead. Everyone ran themselves into the ground and played fantastically well but I have to give a special mention to Berbatov: he held the ball up well, played some lovely passes and showed some magical skill at times. I've not seen him put more effort into a match since he joined Spurs.
It's also nice to see some of the youngsters get some game-time. O'Hara looks very promising indeed.

Didn't watch this since I was watching the other matchup. (obviously)

Man City's number 1 priority. BUY A STRIKER!!! But seems like you guys were running around all game like maniacs. You guys are gonna be tired come the second half on Saturday. I'm sure Arsenal will be playing at blistering pace to take advantage of it.
