Momo Sissoko wants to leave Liverpool in January.

The Mali midfielder has told friends he regrets turning down a move to Juventus in the summer after being persuaded by manager Rafa Benitez to sign a four-year contract.

Since then, 22-year-old Sissoko has endured a miserable time, with his opportunities limited by the form of Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano and Steve Gerrard's move to central midfield.

But Benitez is notoriously reluctant to let players go until he gets a replacement and the new contract means Liverpool will put an £8 million price tag on Sissoko.

Without any quotes from the man himself, or Benitez (or even his agent), i wouldn't take it too seriously. Though i forsee Leiva pushing him out of Anfield (one of Gerrard, Masch, Xabi and Sissoko has to give way).

Not technically true - he was exceptional against Toulouse in the Champions League and shone against Sunderland as well. He's just patchy, which is probably not good enough for us..

good games against sunderland + toulouse but is a terrible player, late tackles, bad temper, not as gifted as javier or Lucas, or Xabi or Yossi, the list is endless, doesnt deserve to be in the same midfield as King Stevie so Rafa let him go!

Consider this.

The guy has spent 3 and a half seasons at Liverpool. For two fulls seasons, he has been an absolute colossus in our midfield. He has bossed almost everything that has come his way.

For half a season, he has played abysmally, and all of a sudden he is not good enough for us? What happened to the other two seasons? He still has it in him, but if its regular football he wants, then perhaps Juventus would be a safer bet than Liverpool...

Still, he can leave Anfield knowing he finally scored a goal for us...

Totally agree with this.

The guy has all the ingredients to be a top player, he just needs the consistency - consistency comes when you're given consistent starts, in order to build on form. Injury and rotation has ruined that for him at Liverpool. It's time to move on for Sissoko.

Benítez won't care for him too much as he seeks to add Mascherano to the squad permanently and bring Lucas through.

The most recent rumor that's floating around is that Juventus has sent a representative to Liverpool to check out Xabi and Sissoko.

well that would have been a wasted journey seeing as they have hardly played recently.
