Mancini to leave in the summer? |
|
The Brazilian winger is desperately unhappy in the Italian capital and the media have been speculating about his future for quite sometime now.
The 27-year-old’s contract with the Giallorossi runs out in 2009, and he is demanding £2.4m a year to extend his deal. This is £700,000 over Roma’s salary cap, thus making it impossible for a new contract to be signed. Liverpool and Lyon are both interested in signing Mancini, although Coach Luciano Spalletti has made it perfectly clear that he will not be leaving in January "I won't change anything in the winter market. I don't like players to leave in January," the ex-Udinese tactician stated. Mancini will however be sold in the summer to prevent the chance of him leaving on a Bosman free transfer the following year. The ex-Atletico Mineiro star has not had one of his best seasons with the Giallorossi and has had to endure boos and jeers at times from his own supporters. I knew it would have ended in this way, we did the same with Cassano, Emerson, Zebina, Chivu and probably someone else. What I can't understand is why Roma didn't sell him in the last summer when he could have been sold for around €20-25 millions. Now we'll sell him for €12-13 millions... I'll never understand Roma and his tranfers policy. Oh and Ferrari, which contract will end in June 2008, could leave as well |

Why don't Roma fans like Mancini? He's a great player.

Don't get me wrong, i like him a lot but I knew Roma woudn't have renewed his contract, so I would have already sold him. This season he's playing awful, probably 'cause he wants to leave but if Roma renews his contract I'll be well happy.
