Lazio outcast Guglielmo Stendardo is set to become the subject of a tug of war between AC Milan and
Tottenham Hot
Spurs, according to the latest reports out of Rome.
The 26-year-old centre-back was recently involved in a blazing row with Biancoceleste coach Delio Rossi, and now has one foot out the door as a result.
The Italian capital club have been quick to slap an £8m price-tag on Stendardo, who is on the fringes of the Italian national side. AC Milan were the first club to be seriously linked with him, but now
Tottenham sports director Damien Comolli is also reported to have developed a fancy.
The size and nature of the bid that
Tottenham are allegedly plotting has not been speculated on, but Milan are reportedly ready to offer veteran Croatian defender Dario Simic in exchange. Given, Lazio’s current injury crisis, this could prove a tough offer for
Spurs to better.
Lazio have had an absolute nightmare of things up until this point, and are scheduled to re-group for the all-important second-half of the season on January 2. Whether Stendardo will still be a part of the squad come that point will soon be seen.
