Hello All.

As newly appointed Moderator of this section i will be striving to improve every aspect of it. to do this fully and in order to benefit us all i require the assistance and co-operation of all of you.

this section is clearly visisted by many 'guest' members who in turn would judge the entire forum just on the Premiership section. how many of you purely signed up for footballing reasons and yet get stuck into the rest of the forum? i know i did.

Those of you that know me are aware i am a firm but fair man and i expect some good quality posting from all of us so i will lay down a few simple ground rules that we can all follow and make this a better place for all of us....

1. Please try to keep on topic at all times

2. Please attempt to make posts of at least two lines at a time, lets mix quality with quantity and broaden your horizons, get involved in other clubs and share your views.

3. I personally would allow moderate swearing but the overall forum rules obviously apply and i will edit wherever necessary.

4. Personal insults, as ever, are not tolerated, this works both ways though, think about what you post in order to avoid being abused

5. I reserve the right to delete, edit, censor any post that i deem pointless, offensive or a general wind up attempt

like i said, the rules are fairly basic but of late the standards have been slipping. i hope to have this section buzzing with activity in the coming months if not weeks but as ever need the established members to raise the bar in terms of standard which in turn will increase the volume of members who will sign up and stick around.

if we build it, they will come

For all those concerned here are the proper forum rules and not ones from someone whos had no authority in their lives and no has finally got a bit of it and is going way overboard with the deleting of posts and rule making....


BTW... This is on topic, has more than two lines of text and is not insulting. Will the new boy delete it because he knows it's true? Or will he leave it because he knows most people will of seen it by now anyway?

The above rules are in line with the forum rules anyway, so I would expect them to be followed. We all want this forum to do well - the better the posts, the better the experience for all members.

Yes true, but what I'm saying is we're to follow the forum rules, so all steely is doing is going overboard and just repeating rules we already have. All I'm doing is pointing out the PROPER forum rules which are the only ones we need. We don't want different rules in different sections do we?

well i think Steely was just trying to let everyone know this section is his to moderate and to keep going well and wanted to make that clear to everyone . All members who have recently been appointed as new mods have been chosen for a reason and they have the full backing of admin and the elite mods , so we expect all members to respect their new authority ....they are of course subject to the same forum rules as everyone else so they are not getting special treatment or able to do this or get away with that .

as i pointed out in the original post, many new members would go through this section first without entering any other section and thus would not stumble across the rules. i myself never entered the 'announcement' section for months when i joined as i didnt see the significance. its just a polite reminder that hopefully will encourage good quality posters and help more experienced posters keep up to the standards expected.

the posts i have edited from yourself were clearly a direct breach of the rules im sure you'll agree. im sure we can all be grown up about it. if i have posted something to which you feel is in breach of the rules, pm me and i will edit it to the forum's satisfaction. none of us are perfect, simple discretion and level-headedness goes a long way.

feedback is welcome.... do you think it would be better to completely delete this sticky then?

You know quite well it was not that bad... You have made posts far worse and offending to people on here...
About removing this sticky :- No don't remove it. The only problem I was pointing out is that you should of pointed people to the direction of the proper forum rules and whilst your doing that you'd also be showing them around the forum rather than them staying in this section the premiership (which your lucky to be in), You know "broaden their horizons" So there there you have it.

the point is that now i have been given this section so i am informing everybody of the standards i expect from my section. you may notice i clearly state 'moderate swearing would be acceptable but the overall forum rules obviously apply and i will edit wherever necessary', you obviously took issue with one harmless word i used and so if O Dogg or anybody else deems this to be unacceptable then my posts are subject to the same treatment of everybody elses.

the sticky was made as a greeting, notifying them that i will be looking over the posts. also to encourage members of the rules that have been so clearly abused in this section over the last fortnight or so and finally as a place for new members to feel like they have a basic understanding of what is accepted as soon as they enter the most viewed section of the site.

if i simply posted a link like you did what would be the point?
