Next prem game is against Chelsea but we have Arsenal next in the carling cup will the jenas ban count for that game or the Chelsea one?

Zokora

I think Spurs could stop Zokora going .... if were left short of first team players ...

unless we dip into the transfer market we could be left short of top class midfield/defenceive players

todays events may of just ended our season with so many top players missing we are going to struggle to get any sort of result against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Ramos may have to give notice to some players who are clearly not giving their best for the club and we maybe looking at a West Ham type clearout at the end of the season .

I have to ask what on earth caused hudderstone to get sent off after just 2 minutes on the pitch?

I hope Ramos kept him behind for extra training tonight as punnishment !

Yea Tom Hundredstone I think might just have blown his last chance with Ramos, ship him off to Derby or something.

Chelsea will be delayed now we have to replay this match I think, which is good cos then it will be after Essien heads off to the ANC.

If he was sent off for violent conduct why do we not see more players sent off for squareing up ?

However harsh, it is common knowledge in the game these days that any clear movement of the head into an opponents face will be treated as an act of serious aggression, particularly as he did it in full view of the Ref and Linesman.

while it looked to me on motd that his head movement could of been seen as a headbutt i think it was simply hudds pushing his face into the face of the other player ,being taller his head went down in a movement that looked very much like a headbutt....

accepting maybe it was an intentional headbutt then he should of been sent off .... but why do other players escape the same punnishment? ... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Anyway it was a stupid thing to do .... even when prevoked .

back to the result ....

If Reading idea was to get knocked out of the cup that idea seems to of backfired lol

I think it would be a good idea now for Spurs to play some our players who are fringe players in our squad in the replay .

We might find some sqaud players who have been over looked who are willing to give it their all .

Of course it wasn't. Cup competitions in our situation are not of great importance so it is therefore a chance to test out some lads who are younger or those who are generally on the bench each week.

Well readings idea wasnt to get knocked out the idea was to give a few players a rest, and give some of the secondary players a chance. Steve Coppell probably would prefer a better league position rather than a good cup run, thats why he made so many changes but he clearly didnt go out to loose, just the cup this year isnt a priority to them.

I mistakenly thought this would be a comfortable win for us - not because it was Reading, but because Coppell was fielding an under-strength side.

But Floody summed it up perfectly looking through this thread - we should not have been fooled into thinking Reading weren't up for it - such is the rollercoaster that is Tottenham Hotspur, we should have finished them off when we could have, but instead we will now have an unenviable task of an additional midweek fixture at the Madjeski.

But we're still in the hat for the 4th Round draw so all is not lost just yet.

should we be thinking the same way as Reading ?

An improved league position over a possible cup run?

time to try out our 2nd string players and rest our "best players"

Or just go for it ... see how far we can go?
